    Retired in March. Anyways... from what I know. Basically after a certain number of hours on an airframe the cost to maintain it starts an exponential growth curve. Since we used them a fuck ton more in the Middle East then anyone ever planned on, we used up those hours decades ahead of when we thought we would. Since it now also seems to take a few decades to procure a new plane, we kind of end up with this gap of where it’s getting wayyyyyyyyyy to expensive to maintain it but with no new plane to replace it.
