Yes, it’s free to move. It feels like something is loose, but I can’t feel anything loose when I check stuff.

Yes, they are stock. Can’t you run stock ones with a spindle lift since the geometry stays the same? Could it be the bushings on the stock one? I had to replace the inner tie rod afterwards because it was worn out. It just flopped when the outer wasn’t connected.

How common is this front end clunking that people are describing with these spindles? :spy:

Mine clunked some. I think it was the sway bar link hitting the brake line bracket.

Yea que just curious. When I did mine I did uca. You already checked sway bar, stock uca, not the brakelines loose? Make sure the end links are torque properly is my next guess. Just double check em

Re-torque everything just to make sure nothing is slightly loose.

Rerouted brake lines per instructions. Did some trimming on the brake line bracket for extra clearance. Have been under truck while someone turns the wheel. No binding or rubbing visible. I have a buddy with an F150 with the Maxtrac spindles. He has the same sound. When he contacted Maxtrac they told him that there were no other reports of the issue and something had to be installed wrong.

Checked the steer stop bolts like you said and torqued them to 112lbs. THE CLUNKING IS GONE! Thanks so much for chiming in!!

Figured I would give it a shot. Set my trusty Harbor Freight torque wrench at 118 ft/lbs. From what the diagram I found on here said. Wrenched down on all 4 bolts and no clunking for now.

Haha... you might not have the clunking if you’re not feeling it in the floorboard and steering wheel. Check it out though. I wouldn’t have figured it out if it weren’t for everybody on here helping each other out.

Because there are situations where a 16" rim with a 315 tire will rub. Instead of giving caveats related to the use of 16" rims, its just easier to say 17" and larger.
