    Hello all,

I believe I was a member of this board in the past but couldn't remember any sign in information or associated emails, so I'm back again!
I currently own a 2007 Black Toyota Tacoma and looking at upgrading to a new 2019 TRD Sport. Has anyone used the Toyota Financing? They try to push using their rates for 6 months and then refinancing for a lower rate to get a better deal out the gate. Sounds a little sketchy to me and not sure if this is a better deal than just going through my Credit Union's rates. I don't think they will give me the same deal if I use my credit union though. Which way is better? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

BTW, when you use a low rate Toyota (or any other corporate) that is artificial. Things like 0 interest are not real.

What happens is you pay the 'interest' in the price of the truck, up front, and feel good about what a great rate you got.

The only way to know exactly what you are actually paying for the vehicle is to get your final out the door price with no trade and no finance.

I don't. I tried some of my old email addresses but none of them worked.

Welcome to TW, I finance a small portion and had the out the door price first. The portion that I financed was at 0%, so I went with it and saved my cash.

Welcome to TW! As long as there isn't any hidden fine print then the lowest interest rate is best so just go with that. I always get pre-approved for a loan by USAA before going to the dealership and most of the time the dealership will either match that or knock 0.5% off the rate.

I went through this buying my 2019. The discount off MSRP was significantly more if I used their loan at like a stupid 6% interest but no penalty to refinance after 6 months. The theory is you get like $3000 extra off the truck for a few hundred extra in interest then just refinance at a low rate.

Wait for the 2020, it’s getting a bit of a facelift with LED lights, power seats, Apple CarPlay.
