    My Brother bought my niece a 88 YJ super easy to work on. I'm a fan of 04-06 jeep rubicon LJ but any TJ I wouldn't mind having.

    would love to have another Jeep TJ, I bought one for cheap and had it about two years and sold it and made money. Only thing was it was the 2.5. Which are good engines as far as reliability.

    I would like to have an 04-06 rubicon as well, but since the other jeep TJs can be had for about 8k less I'd buy and build.

    That is what nice about them you can start on any platform and build your way up.The mods are endless.

    Yeah I did also yeah some were listed for as much as 16,000 for a 06

    I was thinking like $3-4k for a beat up 97-98 4cyl...nope still $8-9k for a shitty one.

    LJ on tons and 40s would be sweet!

    I love that jeeps can pull the doors and roof. My friend has a jku and its pretty sweet cruising around with the top and doors off.

    Yeah a LJ reminds me of a modern day scrambler. I looked at them before I bought the Tacoma I almost bought a Sahara but the guy backed out of the deal the day of.

    You can do that too on a tacoma just get some Tube Dawrz and modify the hinges @EatSleepTacos did a write up on his set up. Top not so much unless you go old school and do one of those Cali style tops :puke:

    Well yea, the taco isn't the best tow rig but its far better than a jeep. I can't afford nor do I have the space for a full size so the taco will work for both wheeling and towing.

    Mine tows just fine but I also have the DCLB and having a long WB helps a lot I've towed 20ft enclosed trailer that was ~4500 lbs. Also tow a bunch of little trailers and a couple of canoe trailers with 8 canoes. It does pretty well. You aren't going anywhere in a hurry and a brake controller is a must! Just put along. I wouldn't use it for a truck that constantly has a trailer behind it. There is a guy in SC that tows his boat with his 3rd gen all the time. Personally anything with less than dually wheels in the back is a compromise to me in towing. After owning several full size trucks and one being a diesel dually all others lack the control the dually has, YYMV.

    At some point I'd like to get a 3500 dually cummins with the 6 speed manual as a tow pig.
    I'd only be towing a few times a month. The taco will do it, just won't be going anywhere fast.

    So did you go SD truck springs 3+1 then junkyard 4+1 or did you go SD truck springs 3+1 then junkyard 3+1 then junkyard 4+1? I’m looking for softer spring. I don’t carry anything in rear.

    Modded it so much it turned into a 4Runner
    SD springs were garbage. I went junkyard 3+1 but added a 4th leaf with all the weight I had when I had the rack and tent and swingout. Now that all that is gone, I’m on 3+1 and it it amazing.

    I’m on 3+1 too. It’s pretty much perfect when I’m not hauling a bunch of stuff.
    Rear bumper is supposed to get shipped tomorrow, so I guess I’ll find out if I need to bump up to 4+1.
