It's less Tacoma and more mod
It's usually charge circuits. No matter the actual item at fault, the outcome is still a thermal runaway battery.

Yeah no doubt. Fire would suck either way as you'd pretty much be unable to stop it once it starts in a very small window

I've been watching a lot of his videos lately. Although he's not the most knowledgeable about vehicles at times it's pretty entertaining.

I don't think I would ever take his advice on buying something, I just like being able to get a look at cars I might not see otherwise.

I won't be able to leave until Saturday likely, which means meeting on Sunday I think.

Maybe for me this year as the next few weeks are busy! If I do go, I won't have the truck, it'll be stuck in CA between adventures.

Peekaboo campsite at the start of salt canyon down Horse canyon. Only campsite right south of the visitor center. However. There is a gate with a lock. I think it's a combo lock so I'll try and relay it to you and Brett via aprs if so. If it's a key lock. Then I'll explore the canyon with Devin then go to the gate and wait for you both.

I'm assuming since it's mostly scenery and hiking focused that generally the route will be stock 4x4 friendly? Still trying to get that week off.

well we will be running Elephant hill..so...sorta? haha

Few pretty rough sections on that trail but nothing super nuts. I've never taken a stock truck on it. If you have decent tires and maybe sliders you'd be fine. Though I've never hit my sliders I think on that trail. Front skid a few times though. Never done it on less than 33s though either.

the first part is much less than it was when I first did it. Been ground down a lot and paved.

Only two hills I can remember that are a bit tricky but really with the right line you just go right up everything and stay aways from everything. I guess if you slipped off you'd be in trouble. But not a real hard trail by any means.

well we passed a stock 5th gen 4runner going down there hahaha will be better than that!

What kind of tires you have?

And whats your travel situation/timing going to be? Just you? Wife coming?

With you Dan and Brett we are maxed on rigs coming, well at least for the official campsites. after that its fair game.

Stock tires... Unless I get a flat between now and then. But hopefully with enough skinny pedal it'll work out. I've got skids and sliders so I'm not too concerned about ledges.

I plan to leave Satruday morning on the 25th and it's an 8-9 hour drive. So I should be in the area in the afternoon.

It'll just be me and the dog unless the hiking trails don't allow pets.

Sadly no dogs allowed in Canyon Lands. Which the first two days of hike are done in. Sucks, I like dogs around camp.

And did you mean the 23rd?? The 25th is a Monday. Which you could find us then too.

Stock tires? Hmm..aka maypops haha you have a good spare?

Got it. No dog then :(

    Yeah, the 23rd.

I completely didn't expect them to last this long. I will say they've definitely surprised me. That being said I do have a full size spare that's the same tire and tire plugs of course.

hopefully we don't have to use it. haha last time we had maypops on a rig they lasted 3 days I think.

Anyways I'll double check, but pretty certain the dog can't come into Horse Canyon and on the Joint Trail.

Since Dan will be driving all day and night :p you and I can figure out how to link up on Saturday. Im still trying to figure out the timing to see if some exploring can be done on that day too.
