so the '98 models had the long side striping? I wasn't sure, its been so long since then I just don't remember ... when exactly did they stop it and just have the TRD decal at the rear

I cutout the bedsides and rockers and welded in new panels, fiber glassed the holes in the bed since I was putting the liner back in, replaced both front fenders, both bumpers, tailgate, grille, painted the truck and camper shell. I also replaced the fuel tank, pump and lines all the way forward to engine, replaced the main brake line front to rear. Frame was also in need of some patches. I used scrap metal and welded in some sections. Engine, trans, and drivetrain were all good. I recently scored some 2018 16" wheels I like.

I got the truck for $1600 and probably have about $1500-2000 in parts. Worth it....maybe break even if I sold it. It was a fun project, but not something I want to do again.... oh wait, I did this one since then. I have better 16" 4runner wheels on it now, but still haven't painted any of it. I'm strictly amateur, but getting better. My body filler work sucks. Lack of patience.

sure wish I had a garage that size! could put the lift in do some more myself underneath instead of taking it to the certified mechanics over the years
