just lay your own cable and piggy back off of your neighbor. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. :cookiemonster:

Oh, we've thought about it. Especially since the house is up for sale and no one is there. Just need a splitter and some pro wire staples to make it look official.

For YouTubeTV I installed an app on my AppleTV. Within YTTV I can change the resolution to whatever quality I want. I usually stream at 1080P. I haven't noticed whther or not it does 4k because I don't have a 4k compatible TV.

That's the damndest thing. Yes, we are in horse, cow and corn country but 3 miles away up the road is a place that sells steamed crabs/seafood. And cable does run up the road. We are just too far off it.

No, I check constantly for a county ISP, cable or fios. They say the more people that check will let the companies know there is an interest. That's part of the problem too. Not enough younger tech savvy people near me. Just a bunch of hillbillies and farmers.

Yup, basically it is. I swear, between the shared drive drama we deal with constantly, and the lack of tech, if I had known this then, I would have never bought.

I see these as soon as I cross the line in Delta. Seems this would be so much easier all around.

on that earlier note, id seriously consider cutting a deal with a neighbor to have an extra service installed at thier place, and then run it over to your house. ive seen that done before for power/internet when the companies wouldn't do it. or you could "accidentally" send some 220v down that old verizon line and see how fast they come out to fix it.

Edit: on a less vindictive note, look and see if the county/city has an agreement with the cable companies, they usually do and it outlines the requirements for "no charge" service extensions to homes, doubly so for you since there has already been previous service.

Actually, the girl that use to live in the house was a great neighbor and her, the wife and I were good friends. She offered to let us use her wireless and said she would even set up a wifi for us. I just always felt funny. Sometimes things go south and friendships have a way of being dissolved. She also always said if we wanted to get a dog she would look after it while we were at work (she already had dogs) since she came home at lunch to let hers out, what's one more. She had horses too and all that so a real country girl. We were sad to see her move away.

No telling who will move in there. Could be someone that is all generous and willing to let us have that service installed then one day we come home and they are gettin' jiggy wit it in our pool thinkin' we owed them a favor back. o_O EW!
