Not yet! I plan on going up to 4.88s eventually, but for now I'll just crawl along like grandpa. Probably a good thing haha

You're probably right, but my 1.5mi commute on city streets means I probably won't notice too much. But I'll save up to regear anyways.

Currently I'm more concerned with how open the stock air intake is to mud/dust/water. I'll be unhooking it and allowing it to pull in air from the engine bay for now, since we are getting muddy next weekend!

Or do a cowl reroute. I went snorkel though I'm not a fan of the look but whatever.

I'll probably end up with a snorkel, but for now I'll live with the engine pulling in warmer air from the engine bay. What brand of snorkel did you go with?

More pictures of my new headlights on my 2005. I decided to go with the clear version, I see most taco owners go with the smoked ones usually. I’ll be getting my new Level 8 Mk6 wheels with some 265/75/16 tires this week. Pretty excited :)

Made a lot of progress on the truck today. Got all the mounts welded in, installed and set bump stops to the correct height, and replaced my serpentine belt/idler pullies/tensioner bearing. Did a cmc for a local member halfway through as well.

The way my old bump stops were set up, I limited up travel by 1” to not bottom out the B110. I set up these new ones to limit up travel by 1.5”, for more down travel. At full resting droop, I have an extra 1/2” of shock shaft left which should account for any additional downtravel in real world conditions. If I happen to go past that safety net, I believe there’s an internal stopper to protect the shock. So I won’t be running limit straps for now.

My to do list to be done.

    • Weld on resi mounts
    • Charge shocks
    • Replace rear shackles with new Toyota ones with poly bushings
    • Space out hard brake lines on axle by 1” (going to just get a longer bolt and stack some washers under it
    • Build 2” drop bracket for e brake cable so it’s less stressed at full droop
