Attempted to re-grease however it seems after attaching the grease gun to the zerk the grease gets pushed at the connecting point and not actually going into the zerk.
I tried multiple times with pushing the attachment firmly into the zerk but still spills out and not going into the joint.
My attachment has gone bad? Or any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

Finally got around to mine today.
Both zerks took three pumps before beginning to push out red OEM grease. Definitely good to go off the lot, but 10 minutes well spent to know I'm not running around on 'assembly lube'. lol

Unknown lift, maybe 2" I don't know how to ID it, and would rather set it back to stock.
Just got another '16 Tacoma DCSB, Off Road model. Three zerks in the rear DS, 2 in the front DS. As on my other '16, the front U joints pushed out a thin red fluid, only a small amount. I am certain all grease guns are different, but it took a lot of pumps on all U joints to get to the first show of old lube pushing out of the seals. Then of course I kept feeding them until only new clean grease was coming out. 14K miles on this Tacoma when I bought it 3 days ago.
All of the zerks were nipple zerks, rather than the flat variety with the dimple in the middle.

No. The needle adaptor is only for the flat type of zerks, not for the nipple type.

Wrong. Needle will work just fine on nipple zerks.

no needle adapter is necessary at all for the type of zerks used on a Tacoma whatsoever just your standard grease gun fitting is the best where the hell do these people come up with this crap [IMG]

yeah but that type of situation does not exist on a Toyota Tacoma truck so what happened to a S10 doesn't matter, all the grease fittings on a Tacoma are easily accessable with a standard grease gun fitting, its not rocket science

My problem was never getting the standard end on. I can never get it off, lol. Not a tacomma problem. Its a problem with my gun it never wants to pull off of a zerk once I get it on there.

I found that grinding down 2 sides of the gun's tip helps a lot for the front zerks.

Also, approaching the front zerks …… 1 of them is easiest from 7:00 and the other from 5:00 position. (as you look at it from the rear)..

Sorry dude, that is simply a retarded proposition. I would never, ever undertake to struggle to try to mate a needle point onto a nipple zerk. It is simply ridiculous to even consider doing that. Were I to see someone at a shop trying to do that on my vehicle, I'd go find another shop. Of course, I don't get this done at a shop, I do it myself.

CAN it be done? I suppose so, if you really want to struggle beyond what could ever be considered sensible or practical: I'll skip all the metaphors. But please make us all a video, and post it up demonstrating unequivocally how clean, simple and straightforward this process is, so we can all learn from you, and then we can all throw away our grease guns with the fittings for a nipple zerk, and just use a needle dispenser.

    Please.

Editing: Please everyone disregard my negative commentary, this really came across so poorly, and I'm not really the jerk this portrays. I should not demonstrate such a closed mind after so many many years of automotive work and harsh life experiences, etc, and taking pride in innovating, adapting, and overcoming obstacles. I should have had the maturity to ask further into what @jmneill had to say. I'll try to be a better forum member.

Had some nipple zirks I couldn't easily access on a tractor that led to my first grease needle. Wasn't rediculous, and certainly was no struggle.
To each their own. I try not to use adjustable wrenches, but every once in a while, needs must...
