Yep pretty much the same here all ways been the same from day one. Maybe the phone calculator works better than a display or it has some thing to do with Maine.

I usually get 24-27 MPG in my 2018 SR5 that is a 2WD 4-Cyl double cab if it's highway speeds. However, since I have to commute up the middle of Atlanta - it's usually 14-16 MPG averaging 18.5 MPH. I went from getting 30-34 MPG in my 2018 Tiguan to this. However, since the VW was Lemon Law'ed - I am happy to keep paying more for gas for a more reliable vehicle. :)

I can't get over that you all believe that onboard computer mpg estimater! Miles traveled since the fill up, divided by the gallons needed to fill it again is the real mpg.
Non of my 3 V-6 4WD Tacomas got over 21 mpg driving freeway speed and far less driving in town. The normal high-low range is 19-15 mpg with 16-17 most typical. Zero your odometer when you fill up, drive until you are below 1/4 tank and refill, noting the gallons and miles driven. No scan guage or computer does that but a calculator and your input can.

    ^this.

Using the Fuelly app at every fill up, I’ve never been over a 16.2 tank average. I’ve got about 5500mi on my ‘18 at this point and my all time average is 15.2. I do have +1 sized tires. I also live in the mountain state, so no real access to a flat road. Lol. I wasn’t expecting any better than this though so I don’t really care, but I do like to keep track.

There is truth to that. My wife's 2015 Outback has a very narrow sweet spot. She gets close to 30mpg on her normal commute because it's in the sweet spot (highway <65 mph). When we take it back to MT during Christmas (mountain passes, 80+ highway) it gets like 20mpg. Any trip that involves more engine load and the mileage really tanks.

It's possible and I have done it on road trips. You will need to have etc off and HEAVILY utilize cruise control. I did this in stock form.

I see you have an off-road model. maybe the stock tires on yours are different? i think they have a kevlar sidewall and are heavier? before I swapped out my tires I had the WEAK 245/75/16 stock highway tires and that is how i got my 25ish mpg's and this is on flats, mountains , and hills on a 5000 mile road trip right off the showroom floor.

I’m getting consistently 13 L/100km on my 18’ with about 2500km on it which is about 18mpg. It’s been between -10 and -15 celcius since I got it though and running 245/75/16 studded winter tires. A 34 km daily commute mostly flat at about 80kmh but have to slow down for a few tight turns. Never drove it with the 17” 265’s yet. Pulled them off when I had it undercoated with 100km on the odometer. Hoping it’ll improve a bit come summer or at least stay close to this with the bigger tires.

I can assure you that meter on the dash is almost dead on...

Mileage keeper app on my phone does the continuing math, input the odometer and the gallons each time adding gas and it keeps a running mathematical distance/gallons for the prior tankful and the truck lifetime. I’ve used it since I bought the truck and 90% of the time the meter is within .2 MPG with the furthest off it was .4, once.

The 3rd Gen has the most accurate MPG meter of anything I’ve owned that had one, it’s like a Swiss watch compared to my 16 IS, that thing’s consistently off by 1.2-1.5

That would be amazing... so you are saying a 4WD V-6 Tacoma will get 24 mpg without question? I only question because my wife has a 2019 Corolla and it is always flashing wild mpg but at fill up it is always way less. I just don't trust estimates when doing the math is so simple using real numbers.

Mine’s a 2 wheelie sport (bought it as a most days, daily driver and carry stuff machine) however the quoted factory MPG on a unmodded 4wd is only 1 less than a 2wd. I’d take that with a grain of salt but a factory suspension, factory tire set up should be more than capable of surprising you on the highway driving normally and feeding it good gas. Especially with the aid of a bed cover which I’m sure helps mine out.
