-17 with -33 windchill this morning. Had my A1C blood draw this morning and 3 guys in their 70's were waiting with windbreakers on. Swedes, not sure why they were taking blood from them they must have ice water in their veins. Then realized I didn't have on a hat, gloves and hadn't zipped up my coat all morning. I've been here too long, resistance is futile you will be assimilated.

No tornadoes, hurricanes, or earthquakes in the forecast. Or poisonous snakes in sight. Gets above freezing there will be some major flooding though. Ya, you betcha.

Still not sure who it is that closes down the Interstates like I-90 and I-35. I know the National Guard is the one that usually comes in and cleans up when they are too deep for the snow plows.

Rest of the State they don't close roads but do expect you to get yourself out when you end up getting stuck. Whatever it takes or whoever you are

Weekend before last Doctors and Nurses used snowmobiles, snowshoes and cross country skies to get into the hospitals. Minnesota life.

That honor is usually reserved for International Falls in Mn. Which was Frost Bite Falls in the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons. Embarrass, Mn. is normally a tad bit colder though. Who came up with that name?! I know someone that lives in Embarrass. Except in the winter.

Moose aren't afraid of much and will take on a grizzly bear. Wolves, that is what they are afraid of. More than 50% of the moose kills in Mn. are from wolves. When I have a moose pop out on a road running in front of me I stop to wait and there is almost always a pack of wolves chasing them. A moose coming through your camp in the middle of the night is not a pleasant experience, they will plow through any and everything, don't get in the way.

Good moose habit is also good ruff grouse habit.

One of the guys in the PA thread lost a snowblower to a plow last year, plow dude came around a corner and took it right outa his hands. The municipal services bought him a new one.

That would be a bit of a shocker .

Well, CDL physical is done. Got a little suprise when I got to MVD. My license expired in January.....ooooops! She was cool about it. But now I have a temp license till the new one comes in the mail. She laughed when I told her I moonlight checking ID's at a local bar but couldn't keep track of my own.

Now I'm sitting at the tire shop getting new rear tires on the work truck. They're about 85% wore out but I have time today and would rather go into summer with new skins and not have to worry about them.

Talked to my son last night. He's going to get out of the Army in Sept and his wife gets out the following year. Hard to believe 4 years has almost gone by. I'd rather see him stay in but it's his decision.

Perhaps see if he would consider going to another branch that has a career field better suited to the civilian world or join a reserve unit some where ...

They're set on getting out. As long as he retains a good re-enlistment code he can go back in or go guard or reserve. I'm sure they have a plan.

It used to mean more then now lol though not quite polymorphic coding but interesting enough some times when you start looking at what is in the slack space of hardrives.

13* and snow right now, 45* and rain by the weekend. I don’t like roller coasters, but I will take the warm temps.
