Don’t want it super bad. I have a 3rd gen but I’ll easily put 30-40k this year on it. I drive it ~120 miles a day.

13K is way to much. I would also would say 8-9k 9.5k max. I bought a 04 ext cab 4x4 trd 120k miles recently in perfect shape for 8k

We all know how kbb is when you're talking about tacos. I'd say 12k sounds fair based off what I am seeing I paid 11.5k for my 04 last year. I was there within 2hrs of the listing and two people called while we were looking at it.

i guess this is gonna come down to basic economics
    supply and demand

how are the 'other' truck makers in your area doing in similar age and condition for sell price?

The 1st Gen trucks will run forever. And in some areas, sounds like value might be starting to climb. Frame looks fine. I would say 10K tops. Your gonna loose several thousand if you pay 13K and sell it a year & half later.

    is it still for sale?

another thing came to mind to ask is if that frame had been thoroughly inspected with hammer at the dealer under the recall?
maybe that put your mind at ease about possibly overpaying

probably would have to keep it longer than 18months per djohn24 comment to get 'your' value out of it, very good point!

I looked up the vin and it says no recalls based on the VIN. Looks like it avoided the frame recall. It is still for sale. Seller is says we are a ways off from 8-9k... wondering what I should try to offer.

not sure how that recall stuff worked exactly for southerners? if it went through any state during the winter that pours that nasty liquid cloride stuff down, visiting relatives or whatever, it must've potentially picked something up through 16yrs? how can they (the recallers) prove it never ever left the south and not be subject to a frame inspection?

ask them this... 'What is wrong with this truck?' why did the previous owner part with it?
    because something's always wrong
