No doubt. I think it starts at the beginning, when you order anything.

Powder coat isn't sticky unless its under cured AND HOT SOLVENT touches it. Even then, theres a greater chance you'll wipe out the coating IF that's the case. A proper powder coat should be able to survive 15 double rubs of MEK.

Okay people, what you're seeing are areas where the powdercoater missed, usually right next to the hanging racks. Its called the Faraday Effect.

I find this funny, so many people hit me up and say, ohhhh your prices are $$$$$ but when you think about fallout like this... its what happens when you compete on price, something like Q.C. gives....

Also, unless these are FERROUS materials, I wouldn't worry about corrosion. Aluminum doesn't rust, it exfoliates into white rust... in certain conditions....

Must’ve overlooked where you were arguing that being charged a premium means products damaged and poorly coated out of the box, or a bigger issue yet with his stuff.. it looks like part of the Titanic after mild weather.

Okay, so yeah - that type of damage is when your metal was not blasted enough AND when you powder coat over oxidation. I would be wary of that....

True powdercoating would be to take that down to white metal, SSPC SP-10/ NACE 2 " Near White " and then seal it up ( powdercoat it ) within 4 hours with an environment of 75 Degrees F. and a relative humidity of wayyy less than 35%

Any more time in between these 2 steps - you'll run into issues like these...

I don't think its KBVOODO's fault, just a crummy sub of his. That's all.

They've got good products - what sucks is that all it takes is a bad sub and a blind QC inspector to tank it. Look at Pelfreybilt, I feel they still got a great design and the culture that company created was awesome. It's just when you have a sub that does dick dog shit work and they're the only basket where you put your eggs into.... yeah, no bueno....

I’d be pissed even if an aluminum product had peeling/flawed paint right off the bat, just for looks.

Does it matter who does what? His company sells the products and ships the products, not the powder coaters.

Is he somehow not involved in looking at anything he sells as it’s shipped to customers? Does he not get the same emails and feedback we all end up seeing because he is indifferent to the greater issue and instead chooses to slap a minor refund back? Or process and send multiple replacements?

I personally think this could all be solved by sending product raw with a protectant and letting end user paint to their delight but he’s already said he’s not willing to do that.

Two years ago I purchased BAMF sliders with their powdercoat and it started failing everywhere within 6 months. All the corners were starting to rust. I contacted Jerry and he refunded me the pc cost, but it was still a major pain in the ass to deal with. At the time he had said they were changing pc processes yadda yadda yadda....

Me and all my friends learned a long time ago to order bare and get it powdercoated locally. The powdercoating we can get around here costs less and lasts way longer.

    edit:

idk, I feel like all vendor powdercoating sucks, and it's more of a pain to ship.

    No kidding.

Swears he’s spent tens of thousands fixing issues.. how much does he have to burn before he cuts out whatever mark up he has on PC instead. Can’t imagine there’s that much financial incentive to keep churning these same shitty waters every other month.

Not to mention the other forums, Amazon, etc that he sells on (and gets complaints on).
