    From what I heard they can't build it heavier.

    Don't know for sure . Just know a friend of mine is getting an old shaft he got from a junk yard as a spare resleeved since he found a dent on it.

    He asked about it being stronger. Shop said no because the yoke needs to be pressed in and if you go bigger it won't fit.
    If you go thicker wall it won't fit and you'll get bad vibrations.

    That's what I did for my drag race car , I had an aluminium d/shaft custom built capable of handling 1300rwhp !!

    OP how in the world did you get the truck home? If it's a Dana shaft (as indicated on the picture)...it came off a jeep? Does Toyota put Dana shafts on stock Tacomas or Tundras?

    I guess 2-wheel drive took you out of the mess that caused the D/S problem in 4 W/D? I expect you crawled under to unbolt...bet that was a mess. Anyway, glad you got it home...let us know what the dealer says when you take the shaft parts in....
