auto down and up windows on both front doors on sport, only auto down on driver door on sr5...at least on the rental I had. Also a little off topic but all the brochures say the sport has hill start assist on AT only, but my 6mt has it.:notsure:

The Sport MT for sure has it, the OR and PRO MTs don't have it. Not surprised the brochure isn't accurate

Stop trying to puff your chests. So dumb how someone thinks if they have a certain model everyone else should have it. Ooooooo. OR has crawl control and rear locker. So what. I don’t go places in my truck that need any of that. You’re so much more manly than me. Blah blah. Yes. I still wanted and need a truck. For surfing. Camping. Fishing. Carrying bikes to the beach, And other things I do

But post #9 is pretty much the differences. I did find that adding 4x4 and other things I wanted made the sr5 more expensive than the sport with the features I wanted.

Was that some sort of upgrade package? I think I have seen that available, but most SR5's have the Entune Plus. I don't even use the Apps since they did away with Pandora.

I know what you mean, I got the 2wd Sport because it will pull my trailer with my ATV on it and get me to the trail-head. From there I have all the fun I want, don't worry about tearing up my truck, and I know I will have a way home if something does break on the trail. If everyone needed the same truck, then Toyota would have only made one truck.

I know Southeast Toyota sometimes adds the entune premium to the SR5’s.

A 2wd off-road gets the most hate but man I sure do love my 2wd off-road. The rear locker is good enough for me.

I have a Sport but in no way do I knock an SR5. When I was looking for a new 2016 I looked at every access cab in my area. I did not like the grille, the wheels and the light gray seats. I liked the scoop and extra std features in the Sport. I still ended up changing the grille, wheels and added Clazzio seat covers to the Sport. The only local SR5 that was of interest was an inferno and the dealer would not sell it for under $30k. Then I found a Sport in another state that the dealer accepted my offer of $30.6k. The blue was not available locally in the SR5 access cab. The irony is that dealers were flooded with double cabs they were selling for $31k which listed for $33k. I just did not want another double. I was driving a low mileage 2nd Gen double cab prerunner and needed the long bed more than rear seats. It was all about timing. These were just hitting the market so access cab choices were slim. No regrets on my truck but I could have easily ended up with an SR5.

That doesn't even make sense... Why would you need hill start assist on an automatic?

What is it actually doing? Hill start assist on a manual keeps the vehicle from rolling backwards if you're not fast enough getting on the gas and off the clutch after releasing the brake on a hill. Automatics don't generally roll backwards when you let off the brake...

I can tell you dont own a boat ;)

OP - good info is here. Unfortunately Toyota isnt all that great at helping consumers determine the model, and the sales reps are clueless. I have a 2018 sport, I wanted a manual. The trd package options are a great value for the money. I also thought I was getting a locker, the sales guy told me the trd sport and off road model were the same except the stiff suspension, scoop, bumper caps and fender flares.

I knew suspension was getting changed eventually so Id get the fancy scoop. Ordered it and waited for delivery. Oops, didnt notice that there was no rear locker. ARB in there now.

Ah. Nope, I pretty much never tow, and seldom own automatics. Interesting.

It helps for towing, but Im old fashion - i dont trust it worth a damn. My foot is on the brake if I am on a hill.

Well, that destroyed my thoughts of ever buying an SR5.

Same I was told they were basically the same except for a better suspension, better off road tires, and crawl control. Same price even. They convinced me for the OR and I have no ragrets about it. I was thinking maybe getting an SR5 and using the difference for some mods, but apparently it has no rear locker nor all the neat little things that a thoroughly enjoy on my truck like the power outlets on the bed and the nice screen.

Yea, its unfortunate. I didnt get crawl control as an option with the manual, but had I gotten the auto it would have made me get the off road model for sure. Damn nifty system
