    In progress :/
There is a special adapter you need. I also thought I just needed the regular wiring harness for Toyota's (e.g. SCOSCHE TA02B), but if you have the JBL system you need a to get a different kind.

There are a few manufacturers that make them, but one is the Metra TYTP-01.

I made the mistake and got the regular harness, but when I pulled out the stock headunit, I could not plug in the new harness. The bad part was that I had soldered the speaker connections of the headunit to the wiring harness.

Another thing to note is that the JBL wiring harness will require you to use the JBL amp. The wiring harness will have RCA connections which you connect to the pre-outs on the back of the headunit. This means that you will not be using the amp in the headunit.

Right now I am debating whether to return the headunit.

Wow... That is kind of gay actually... Is there no way around using the JBL amp? I believe that the one in the new HU that I am getting is probably more powerful...? I am getting the Pioneer Avic X920BT

Thanks for the code. Just ordered the AVH4200DVD and it knocked $150+free shipping. Now I need a 30% off code for an ipad so I can shut my wife up when she sees it

^ that's the one I was looking at getting. So it came out to 350 right?

Also do you know how much the Bluetooth add on is?

Yea it was $348 w/ free shipping. The bluetooth is separate. I'm not a big fan of bluetooth so it wasn't a deciding factor for me. I debated on getting the 3200bt but I think the lack of buttons on the side gives it a much cleaner look.

    Yea I want Bluetooth.
It's between this and the 920bt. Obviously this one is way cheaper.

So is all we need the unit? I want the Bluetooth, iPod cable and steering wheel control. But that's all to make it work right? And what's the best dash kit?

I read somewhere where someone had on that folded out a little on the top to prevent glare from the sun. Any idea on that?

I went with the Metra dash kit. It looks almost exactly like my stock stereo trim. scorche kit matches closer to the gray around the air vents. Both have their advantages/disadvantages. Its mainly personal preference. You need the dash kit, wire harness, steering wheel control kit and head unit to get it up and running. ipod cable and bluetooth can be added whenever your ready for it. Its just easier to do it when you have it all pulled out. I haven't heard much about glare. I did look thru a few pics of Tacos with this unit installed and they didn't mention anything about glare problems.

I guess I'm screwed. I want the 4200DVD but Amazon doesn't have anymore. It just has links to others dealers.

    Thanks!
So that's 75 more than what Amazon would be.

Think there is any chance of them getting more in stock?

That's interesting, before I saw this Amazon offer I was looking at the 4200, and they offered me $420 with the coupon code "pio80".
