Mine Shipped today! It will have to wait a couple weeks, unfortunately. I am heading to Florida tomorrow for work. I need to buy a laptop anyway, because my son said that the one we have isn't working and doesn't trust it long term. I see several listed at the bottom, any other suggestions? Would probably use mainly for the tune. I need the laptop to send the system ID to OVtune, I am assuming?? Is there also an ID from the trucks system that I need to find and send also? Sorry, but foreign language to me.o_O

I think 16:1 is too lean for AFR. I’d want my shit to last and lose a few mpg than visa versa. Already had my SR20’d 240sx go boom because it leaned out. I definitely don’t wanna go thru that shit again

The thing is you probably leaned out at 12.7:1 which is where things get very hot, when you go to 11:1 it gets richer and cooler and you make more power but its inefficient. When you come up to 16:1 its where maximum thermal efficiency is at and it runs cool but you don't make much power, however it is very efficient. Thus Im saying that I would be willing to give up power for an even more efficient AFR.

After all the mods on my truck I went from 22 to 18 average and 23 to 20 max mpg even with the current tune. Wonder what I would have gotten with a stock truck and the current tune. I cant wait for what else Mat can squeeze out of this truck in terms of drivability and efficiency. Specifically the 4.88 shift schedule and torque calculations.

So thanks to @lapoltba i downloaded TS on Bootcamp (relatively simple) Cleared my ECU values and reflashed the 87 performance tune. Night and day difference. WOW so much fun. Feels like a brand new tune. Initial impressions had no temperamental hesitation

Been away for a few days. Seems like 04b04 is the unofficially recommended baseline. Figured out TS, loaded up 34-18 and 87 performance tune. My right foot needs to get used to it, feels a bit hair-trigger trying to maintain steady arterial speeds. Can't imagine what the 91 & 93 tunes feel like.

This may sound weird, but I thought the same as well when I first flashed it for a couple days when it first got released.

Since today I cleared the ECU with TS, the “hair trigger” feeling is much more predictable and refined. Call me crazy...there is some magic that has occurred

I'll try that out. I'm so used to needing big digs at the gas pedal to get good response, it's hard to go easy. Which is weird, because I can instantly adapt to our other vehicles that drive normally and switch back and forth.

If my memory is right emissions, particularly NOx goes through the roof driving this lean, and it increases hydrocarbons so we cannot do it.

im on the 87 mpg tune and I love it for the daily driving except for one little thing. im light on the skinny pedal and from 1st to 2nd shift it seems to rev weird almost like a lunge when under light acceleration. if you step a little more on it, it's not noticable. I believe Matt set it to get the rpms up before shifting but feels weird if you take off a little slower. Only happens from 1st to 2nd. Anyone else notice this?

All windows antivirus and defender features are off. This is the first time I’ve had trouble installing a tune file. What am I doing wrong? TIA.
