Hey it’s time to share some good news :). AutoNation told me go ahead and bring the truck back. I just dropped it off with them and they are refunding my money. They kept going back and forth saying they would and wouldnt be able to help me. In the end they took care of me. I did speak to a few lawyers and they thought I had a strong case, I never mentioned to AutoNation I was going to go the legal route. I’m so relieved! Now I’ll be on the lookout for a different Tacoma and I know the first thing to check on it :D Thanks for the help and advice everyone

It took me almost a year to find my Tacoma. Living in the North I was determined to find a truck that fit my budget AND wouldn’t rust out from under me. Each day I would look on autotrader with my specification typed in. I would then take the vin of a vehicle I liked and put it into my Toyota account. This would show me if it had the frame replaced and any other work done at a Toyota dealership. I particualrly wanted a truck with its frame replaced in the previous year. If you live in a rust prone area and your budget only allows for early 2nd Gen models I would highly suggest finding one with a replaced frame OR one that is well within the frame replacement period and will without a doubt get a new frame. I’m glad things worked out for you, hopefully the next truck will be a keeper!

Good news that its resolved for you. Now we just get to wait for the next guy to come on the forum after they buy the same truck.
