If you honestly think he will honor that in 6 months and not blame it on misuse like he has done to others in this thread you deserve to be out $800

Only on Tacoma World does a bitch session about custom fabricated parts turn into sharing dog and cat pics. I love it.

I got the tailgate cap. It was a disaster. It didn't make it three weeks with bubbles and rust. I didn't want to send it back and jump through hoops, some of the blemishes I had done myself in ordinary use, the plastic cap was not in good shape. I think that I had to second generation of "the old coater was bad, now the new one is great". I figured there would always be more of the same. I took it to Line-X and got it dipped and coated.

I don’t have any complaints. Figure it’s an easy retirement and a decent pay check every month after I retire

Full disclosure, i stopped reading at page 3. I'm an engineer and work with many powder coater's. We hang 200 lb parts for coating and have less missing coverage than shown in the pictures i saw. Further, these are steel products out in the elements. If the hanging areas are not touched up after, its going to rust.

This is why I prefer aluminum/stainless....worst case scenario if the powder coat chips somehow, it won't rust. The second you get a scratch or chip that goes through the powder coat on mild steel, the rusting and oxidation will immediately begin. And no one wants to have to carefully inspect their powder coating every few days

Of course, there's so many issues with that powder coat it looks as if they don't even know the basics
