which gas station you prefer?

Me, too. Usually Wal Mart. They are usually the cheapest.

What gas stations don't use ethanol? Just checking so I can run a tank without it and see what the difference is.

Sunoco 87, I havent had any problems and still get about 20 to the gallon

 

87 only in my V6

I only fill up with Chevron. If I'm in a pinch and can't make it to a Chevron I'll use Shell.

 

I get gas at Fred Meyer. If you get one of their rewards cards you get 10 cents off at the pumps. Saves me money seeing as I put premium in the truck.

 

Chevron 89 unless Im pushing it and need it a.s.a.p.!

 

That's where I would go but, alas, no Wawa here in SC. Have to go to VA Phillipsburg exit (26?) on I95 for that since that's the closest.

There's a place in Georgetown SC that is at $2.79 right now. I don't know how because everything else is $3.17 or higher.

 

Damn $3.17! I would be happy with that. Our cheapest is $3.59. I think we are the most exspensive in the country.

 

Well, Georgetown is south of me by about 20-30 minutes. In my immediate area (around Myrtle Beach), it's $3.46 to $3.59.

 

Ours just dropped 5 cents to $3.89. Thats just here in Anchorage. Everywhere else in Alaska is more than that. I went on a little road trip last weekend and found a gas station trying to sell for $5.21. You would think that oil rich Alaska would have cheaper gas.

I usually hit up Kroger with the kroger card and get 10c off and I usually stick with the 87 octane. I think gas was down to 3.18 at valero and shell yesterday. HOpefully keeps dropping.

 

Why are you guys spending the extra $$$ on 89 and 91 octane? My Taco runs great on plain old 87. I do try and use Shell when possible.

Because with 87 or 89 my truck runs like shit. And by that I mean it idles rough, shifts constantly and gets a good 2mpgs less that the stellar 15-16 I currently get. But I live in high altitude, the wind never stops, and there is no such thing as a flat road. Plus I have oversized tires and extra weight. That is why I use 91.

 

I can understand using the higher octane gas if you are really doing something with your truck. Personally mine runs fine on 87 but I don't do any offroading. When I pull I usually fill up with 92 before I do any towing. But for my general use to and from work I just go with the 87 or my lil' saturn to save money.
