Well, I'm glad that things are on the mend for you. I hope mine goes pretty smooth too. I LOVE to eat and I hope it doesn't affect what I have to watch afterwards!

That's what' I'm hoping to avoid. I've met others that have had theirs taken out and they turned out perfect still eating whatever they want.

Question for all you Bama boys here. If I get some Dakars (medium) am I going to need shims? What if I add a Headstrong progressive pack, will I need shims for that?

All depends on the truck but more than likely yes with Dakar’s but totally worth it. I have 3degrees under mine. I think @TRD Tyler does too

Thanks brotha! I have been going back and forth with Marie at Headstrong on my options. I'm thinking 887s with 5100s and the HS AAL to start with. I'll pick up some shims if the consensus is that I need them!

    Probably, maybe, depends.

All are applicable for any modification to the rear. Best advice I could offer would be to add a center pin collar on whatever put back there, full leaf pack replacement or AAL.
If you end up having driveline vibes, having that collar installed will make adding shims a breeze.

    EDIT:
I'm a GA boy so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Thanks! Hmm, center pin collar. I'll have to look that one up!

I have family in GA (Conyers) and a few buddies there that I was stationed in the Army with!

Measure your driveline angles before and after lifting. I think the math comes out to like 1* for every inch.

Do some homework on it and don’t take my word for it as I am no expert.

I am not cruel to animals or most living things but a slow drop and a bit of twisting and turning would not leave me remorseful or offend me. Hangings about 300 years ago were actually like that. Just give you a taste of dying. Then they cut you down and did a procedure known a "draw and quarter" which involved removing your intestines with a knife, letting you observe them for a while, then using 4 horses to pull you apart. Braveheart (the uncut version) has it at the end.

I won't be unfortunately. I'm going wheeling with a buddy that day at Stoney Lonesome in his Side by Side. I wish I had more time for all this stuff to be honest, but before you know it, your schedule is slam full.

Everyone (even the retailer of the lift) said I wouldn't need diff drop or degree shims so I didn't install them at first. It took about a week to get tired of the vibration and install both. It rides pretty smooth now but it still has a small vibe at 60. I still think I would like to add hub centric spacers just to try and make it as best it can be.
