Had my 2nd gen for 11 years now, and just picked up a 2019. Been in Austin for a spell, and the guy who did my last paint work, John@ Earl Scheib, has closed up shop due to losing the shop lease, I guess.

Looking to repaint the hood of my black 2nd gen (OEM color), and wondered if anyone has an affordable shop here in town that they would recommend?

@ChadsPride had his roof done at a place in South Austin and it turned out stellar

    Wow, original owner. That's cool!

I've used Ellis & Salazar here on SoCo, very pleased.

What side of town are you on?

I had the roof repainted on this one, too!

I'm around 51st and Manor; East Side!

Did Ellis & Salazar have a hard time paint matching or anything? The last place was no hassle, and only a few hundred bucks per panel; i.e. tailgate, rear quarter, roof, etc.

Yeah, I love that Black Bastard. I wouldn't have purchased a new one, except going through lots of surgery this year, and can't drive a manual anymore without 4 working limbs!

Trying to get it cleaned up and decide whether I'm going to sell it, or give it to my sister or whatever.

Thinking I'd like to get it done this month. would like to have the paperwork showing it was done, to add to the pile of documentation in case the new owner needs it.

Ellis and Salazar is asking about $600 to do just the hood. Seems like the quotes I got previously were lower than that, but maybe that's the going rate?

My grandma had her three rear bumper pieces on her T4R sprayed for $400 at a body shop in Lago Vista. They were loose so they didn't have to do prep work.
