You could try this. I have pretty much squared the front alignment and pushed caster forward myself using level ground, tape measure and string. Kinda mad I didn't go 285s in the first place cause it think there's enough space and if there wasn't, then cmc it is. I only resorted to this method cause 4 visits to Firestone and 1 to a highly recommended alignment shop have all failed. Dudes only do toe and go. Printouts are bullshit anyway. They just hit print when the numbers look good. It's always worth a try to DIY.

Thanks man!!! Will do. I figured even if this specific set up doesn’t rub much, the next set of tires or wheels I throw on will. I anticipate getting the lift in about 2-3 weeks. I’ll let u know!

I can guarantee that it’ll rub. The level of rub that’s acceptable for people is different. I recently did a CMC for a guy that has been rubbing since 2016. Also did another one for a guy that was completely stock but knew he’d need it down the road.
I get a little “brrrrt” every once in a while and just haven’t made time to cut mine yet. Haha.

    Cobbler’s kids and so forth...

Here's mine with fresh 285/75 R16 KO2s. I installed them last friday, a bit over a month after my King setup. I love it.

Coilovers are set at the initial height, I haven't adjusted them. OME MD in the rear.

Stock wheels, no spacers, no trimming, no CMC. Honestly... no major rubbing while driving "normally". I will eventually do all that stuff, but I really wanted to go off roading this weekend... trial by fire.

It does rub in full lock and hitting a hard bump, but otherwise I was completely fine in this trip.20190302_161722.jpg 20190302_163658.jpg 20190302_163705.jpg 20190302_150546.jpg 20190302_150546.jpg

I did get an alignment after the install. I'll have to take a look. Thanks! It feels like it's bottoming out or something it's pretty rough

Anyone with experience, a garage, and the required tools near Raleigh want to help me install some extended Kings+res and TC UCAs?

I'm short on tools and experience with Taco lifts, but I'm very willing to provide beer, work hard, and learn quickly!

    I'd be eternally grateful.

Ok, last minute sanity check. I have the following parts arriving at my house this week to install on my 2019 DCLB TRD OR.

Am I missing any critical parts for the install? Beyond that, is there anything else that may not be critical, but would still dramatically improve the setup right from the start?
    • (1) KING 25001-119A-EXT Tacoma 05+ 2.5" Remote Reservoir Front Shock Pair, w/Adjuster
    • (1) KING 25001-121A-EXT Tacoma 05+ 2.5"Remote Reservoir Rear Shock Pair, w/Adjuster
    • (1) IVD 51101 05+ Tacoma Icon RXT Leaf Spring Kit w/ u-bolts
    • (1) OME FK29 Driveline Carrier Bearing Drop Kit
    • (1) Total Chaos TCS 96504 UCA Set
    • (1) Rubicon Express RE1464 2.5 degree shim kit (pair)
Note: After the install, I'm taking the truck directly to ECGS to have the replacement bushing for the needle bearing installed -- "just in case."

I added upgraded bumpstops since everything was torn apart during install anyways but that’s totally up to you! & I’m totally across the country or I would help you install.. is there a regional thread/forum for your area? NorCal has one w mod days etc to help knock out lifts and other stuff every few months

Well,I dropped the truck and all my parts of this afternoon with the installer. I was told these things would be set about 2-2.25 lift over stock when received, but it sure doesn't look like that's the case with hardly any threads showing. I'm running an ome hd rear and 2.5 ext rears, these are 700lb coils. Any ideas or recommendations on where to adjust these to on thread count showing?I'd like to catch him early before he just throws them on bc I told him they said they should be preloaded but the pics he sent me doesn't seem they are. I was told every 5 full turns equal 1 inch lift. So maybe do 10 turns on passenger and 12-13 on driver?I may be way off here but im trying to get an idea. Thanks for any help I can get.i already have a streamline bumper and winch on the truck btw. Im sure my installer can figure it out, but I'd like to give him a guideline to get him closer from the start at least.

Heres where people get confused on preload, on the Kings even with no thread showing , hust having the spring installed fully extended shock its alredy preloaded some, it is a 14” spring i assume, if you measure it its about 12.5” installed so its already preloaded soem even woth no threads showing. And to some people 2” of lift doesnt appear to be alot , “ to some” . Just crank it down some more. I say this I just installed a set for a customer and he got about 2.25” of lift out of the box i did add a touch. I just reread this and saw that you have an added winch and bumper, so yea would have to add a decent amount more to get it up to your desired height. Good luck he will have to compress springs possibly as turing that much with 700s is quite a task.

I agree,I am confused which is why I asked for help and advice. Were there hardly any threads showing on yours also on the set that yielded you that lift amount? As I said, i'm just looking for maybe a base line of where he can set the threads to save some trouble while they are off the truck.
