$72 pro grille

Anyone else have to shade away a bunch from the glass cover to fit into the 72 ebay grill? I was shaving away with a razor to make it fit for awhile finally got it

 

FYI,
I bought the $73 eBay model and it does
come with letters, they just ship in a separate package. I got the letters the day before I got the grille, but they gave me tracking info for both packages so it wasn’t a big deal.

 

I should have mine on Thursday, I’ll report back when it comes in the mail

 

I bought mine from Mad Hornets. Unfortunately I had to do a combo of using a razor and some sand paper on multiple locations including the front of the garnish and on the inside so the clips would fit. I also had to use my own screws to mount the TOYOTA lettering. It ended up adding some time, but definitely worth the $300 savings. I have had 0 issues with the sensor so far which was my biggest fear.

Overall, totally worth it to get rid of the ugly chrome OR grille.

 

How did your grill install go? I am looking at the same one for my 2017 Tacoma.

 

It's supposed to come in on 3/7, so I'll let ya know by this weekend

First impression: Looks and feels great! The letters are 1 piece and screw in with 4 screws from the back. No double sided tape/alignment issues.

(I may install it later tonight)

I recieved the Amazon link one today also. It has the double sided tape letters. It had a molding blimish that consisted of alittle extra piece of plastic stuck to one of the grill slots but it easily cleaned up with a knife and not noticeable.

Also the TSS sensor slot is melted to bond it together. Kind of strange but I guess that’s ok and not seen from the outside. Although removal of the cover probably would take alittle dremel work.

Overall I think I’m happy with it. Not sure when I’ll install it though since it’s so cold outside and I have to cars tore down in my garage.

Also the back is really dirty.

 

Looks like a very nice grill. Hopefully install will be relatively easy.

Here are some photos:


The only thing I had to do was clear a some flash from the driver's side grooves where the letter insert fits in. A simple pocket knife (butter knife, BIC pen, or whatever) will do.

Passenger side was clear. (flash is to be expected in these areas)

Just ordered mine! Excited to get it. Gonna finally work on getting rid of the chrome on this dang truck lol

 

Install was as straight forward as it gets, minus the bit of flash if you consider that a 'thing'.

I would order again

 

On the Amazon one the First T and the A have different borders around them. It’s grayish although the rest of the letters are black outlines.

Is the eBay one the same way?

I have the Caliraised (which is this one resold at a mark-up) and the center toyota logo came out somehow???

 

What made the center logo come out??

 

I have no idea.. I left my garage and when I arrived at my destination it was gone. I never even slapped it in reverse.

have not researched the new logo but might just pick this one.
