Shoes are not and should not be in the same category as a belt. A belt is there to protect you. Shoes I haven’t worn my olys in close to 6 months even in my last comp I wore chucks and squatted 700 like an opener. Why, because I have zero ankle mobility issues. The argument can be made hip placement, joint ability etc. at the end of the day you don’t need them if you have proper mobility and can hit depth without them. Will they help you throw up a bigger number no. If you have ankle hip problems will they keep you from snapping your shit up, Yes.

Any powerlifters here? Got a pair of Adidas Adipowers size 11.5 for sale in black/red, tried a few times but just not the right fit for me. Located in Colorado, $70 and will split shipping.

The bikini class focuses more on a toned muscle with glamour (make-up, jewelry, tan, suit color, etc) they look for roundness in delts, glutes, abs, legs. No striations and veins ("shreds") that enhance the female body look.

The figure class focuses more on the muscularity, conditioning, symmetry and balance and presentation. You don't want striations here either. You want a "V" taper, tight glutes with separation between hammies and glutes some balance between the upper and lower body. A female basically with some muscle, but not enough muscle to put you into the "physique aka dudes"

Symmetry with muscles? Does genetics play a big role in that or can the body truly be molded to what you want?

Genetics certainly help, but building your body a certain way can be achievable to a certain limit if you work on it. My gf isn't allowed to work shoulders more than 30 minutes on her current program, as her shoulders are rounder than most guys (lol). So, we limit her training there. However, her glutes and hammies she hits 2x a week due to them lacking slightly.

We work her back 2x a week as well to build width and depth (to a certain limit since if bikini we don't want it too much) However, she's pretty middle ground (figure or bikini class) right now and that's why I mention she has to figure out what direction shes going quickly.

At $70, it’s a risk worth it. Cheaper way to find out what kinda shoes I want than to buy new pairs. I may hate em. May not.

I can understand it, because at that point I'm sweating like a pig and out of breath.

She wants the results but doesn't want to do the work. Occasionally she'll get really motivated and use the treadmill every day, but if the scale isn't moving much in 2 weeks gets mad and quits. She said once "the weight just fell off you and I can't lose". Yeah, it fell off me b/c I was 100 pounds overweight and ingesting about 5-6K calories a day of pure rubbish. Giving up soda (about half that #) and eating better will do that. She already eats good food and not to excess.

I can understand she doesn't want to listen to my Danzig or Slayer in the weight room, but I've offered to find something we both like or just nothing.

    Oh well..

10lbs to dream goal weight. 5 to realistic goal. Losing about 1lb/week give or take for water weight and fluctuations. Should have a visible 6 pack at goal weight

Welcome (officially!) And yes as weldertaco said, plenty of us here can help you with whatever you're looking for. 99% of the time people can't gain or lose weight mainly because they don't know what they eat daily. Tracking your foods for awhile is a good way to get an understanding of it. Honestly, you'll be amazed. Most people eat one day super high, then the next day - nothing. Both super counterproductive.

Anyway that's a very brief summary.
