Just ordered the ARE CX for my '10 DCSB and looking for a bit of info.

For those of you who have this setup cap - I'm looking for the distance between the factory mounted roof rails and their overall length. I looking to order a rack before the cap is delivered.

    TIA.

From the base of the rail to the roof I'm at 5 3/4", but this all depends on what cross bars you will be using. I'm running Thule

Think he means the length of the tracks not rails and how far apart they are.

Just got my LEER XQ installed at Leonard of Asheville.

    List of additions I made:
Auto lock with stock key fob sync
Two led light bars(auto turn on when opened)
    overhead storage locking container
    clothes hanger
    3 12v inserts
    bed rug

Absolutely in love with it. I have, since these pictures, removed the big LEONARD decal across the back. I'll take more pics with daylight of inside and post later. 2QUhvPtaR1Gim8u9r2KF4Q.jpgIMG_2910.jpg fkBIAzQiTVaxLxn1JwOhEQ.jpg

Picked up this A.R.E shell the other day.
Still trying to decide if I want to paint it to match or try to resale it.
Anyone painted their shell recently? Anyone know what it might cost?

if you contact one of those camper/shell dealers or autobody place they should do it maybe $100-$200 for just repaint unless they have to remove the old finish/paint than over $1000, my brother had a tonneau redone but the old paint and clearcoat had to be removed was $1200

Thanks, good to know. I was hoping that it would be around $100-200.
I'm gonna try to call a local body shop soon.

I hope not. I only paid $180 for the shell though so if it is higher I still won't have as much into it as my last shell.

$180 for the shell?! you stole that thing! that's a good deal even if you pay $500 to paint. $680 for an ARE with windoors =winning

I paid too much for mine brand new $3200 but I bought all the add-on features

Haha, thanks. I thought it was a pretty good deal too.
The only thing wrong with it is one of the windoors is missing hydraulics and it didn't come with keys. Other than that I'm loving it and already put my sleeping setup in from my last Tacoma.

have you gotten any rain to test out how water tight it is yet? mine will sit just like yours on the bed rails (unskirted)

I am happy to see the Rago ant. mount can stay with the camper shell tho!

    Yes, tons of rain haha.
I did get a little bit of water in but I believe it was mostly coming from the large gap in the front of the shell. I need to find a piece to fill that in with. But I really don't think any water came in around the bedsides because of how it sits on the bedrails. Some might have but I just took a quick peek and it looked like it all came from the front where it meets the cab.

Yeah, I definitely wanted to be able to keep my CB antenna when I had my last truck and camper shell so that why I got that mount. (I think mine may be CaliRaised though).

I had the same problem, but used a big seal, I believe by extruded solutions, on the front.

Okay, thanks! I was wondering what I could use to seal it. I might buy one of those.
