Ahhhhh, i knew you were gonna say that lol.. I dont like what you're saying, but it does make a lot of sense. Of course, not much i do makes a lot of sense, so i think the case is still going in my truck

The only problem with waiting for the AWD goodness is that i really am getting the itch for an FJ case right now, and everything seems like it's gonna swap pretty easy. Not to mention it was cheap! My ADD delete stuff costed more than the case. I think im gonna just go for it and modify things later on for the awd case. Then i can take this one out and donate it to the turtle, bc idk when that one is getting converted to 4wd or if its just getting a fj case and remaining 2wd. I like the idea of the module for 2low, but i think the ADD is leaving, even if i have to do without low range 2wd..

Thats pretty reasonable, I'm surprised they aren't more. I don't know a thing about that case either..

Good call, two sticks is enough.. I just never know when im gonna change my mind and lift the thing. Trying to give myself options i guess. Probably shouldnt do the twin sticks though the more i talk it through with you.

Lol it's cool, like I said I'll be excited to see whichever way it goes! Let's get that FJ case in! Like you said, you can always donate it to the turtle later. There's really no downside either way you go, ya know? Even with keeping the turtle 2wd, you've got a low gear available now, that'll help save your clutch and driveline. Wanna get really creative? Add another case and get 12.08:1 or better with 2wd! It'll go places 4x4's won't with that crazy low gearing. Could you not also donate the front diff and everything from the 4xRunner to the turtle and make the full 4x4 conversion? Don't really see why not.

I say keep the red one slammed and go AWD. That'll be sick.

Yeah I thought it was a decent price too, I'd been seeing a bunch around 250, 300, and more. The $300 set was pretty slick but at the end of the day it's not doing anything differently than the $189 set lol

Sounds like a plan, im excited, never been so ready to cut a hole in my floor haha. Makes it nice to have another truck parts can go on, just move em on around

I do likes the sounds of this. I am already imagining a 2wd on spindles with some yuge tars and a lot of sticks. Would be fun to make a LT crawler out of a prerunner.. Would definitely be very capable with another case on it.. The whole concept is so wrong, that it just makes sense to do :D

Yes i could, but the red truck really struggles to put the power down with only 2wd.. Gonna need the diff and CVs up front for the AWD conversion. Pretty sure all that stays the same, but ill have to do some reading in that AWD taco build to see for sure..

Oh I know! I was excited to chop my bed sides, I'm down right giddy to make a fist sized hole in the bottom of my truck! But now I have no clue where to live my multiplexer to...

Ya know... Turtles have huge muscular arms and a low center of gravity... I'm thinking fender chop and 37's at the least. :sawzall::sawzall::sawzall::sawzall:

Ah I gotcha, I was under the impression the AWD FJ's used a different front end setup.

Alright guys, Got our corrosion engineer looking into the anode protection for us. He did state this morning for the anode to work correctly it would need a conductive medium. Example saltwater, meaning need to be submerged. I got his wheels turning now and he is intrigued with this concept and will continue to look into it.

Gonna be so sweet, i am really looking forward to it. Multiplexer for your stereo?

Sounds like a good start to me! Gotta find some glass bedsides that will let me keep my camper..

Not 100% sure on this, but i think it should be doable with the stock components. The only difference im aware of is the diff tube and the FJ diff doesnt have the needle bearing..

Multiplexer lets me use my CB antenna as an AM/FM antenna. It's mounted exactly where in going to punch a hold in the tub.

Nah you don't need glass, we'll just chop two inches or of each fender and you'll be good to go!

I'll have to look into it, I really don't have a clue.

Case comes in tomorrow, heli will be down for scheduled maintenance and I don't think I have any students tomorrow. Sounds like I'm leaving early to go play with an FJ case!

I'll just be swapping out the handles so you can have a complete one but if I do anything else, I will take plenty of pics!
