Sure did. Downloaded and reinstalled everything after the first few fails. You know
what, this was the first time I used PCMflash directly from FM...think that may be
the cause? The other laptop had the older versions of PCMflash and it worked fine
for installing 1.05/93 perf. But like I said, all else worked fine except the install.

 

I don't understand how everyone who recently upgraded to 04B04 now thinks something is wrong with their truck. It's literally no different than if the dealership updated it for you...

 

Not making this stuff up Matt. I've never had an issue until recent update. I'll accept that mine is most likely/ hopefully trim issues and not 04b04 related. And I think only 2 or 3 people have commented in it, not "everyone".

 

Never said you are making it up but it just doesn't make much sense to me, although in your specific case you flashed many times and cleared many times without ever letting the trims settle I can understand your case.

But for others, if you need actual help or have actual issues .. > Zendesk please. Even if we don't get back to you quickly, we want it documented.

 

@OVTune The frustration was in how perfect you made my truck, then my impatience forced an upgrade that now requires my truck to get the trims settled. That's really the only reason I miss 04b03.

 

Sounds like a great time to Test 1.05 87 Performance on O4B03. I can do that for you @OVTune !

 

Agree it's suppose to reset as part of flashing but it's been demonstrated that flashing sometimes does not clear learned values.

 

There have been reports of loose u-joints from the factory on some trucks. Maybe verify that you’re good there.

Whenever I get symptoms like the ones you are sharing (especially since they are across multiple tunes) I’d start my troubleshooting with known mechanical issues.

Which is why I didn't really understand everyone making the jump from one id to the next. Possibly creating more issues for themselves and Mat all because of impatience.

 

I have cleared learning values 3x on my truck(one was done by the dealer). In all 3 cases it took approx. 200 miles to settle in. Just be patient.
i've just filled my 2nd tank and things are look peachy..

 

Sitting here on 04B02 91 base patiently waiting for the performance update.
Being regeared helps enormously.

I'm going to let things settle first. If there are still issues after a couple hundred miles, then I'll open a ticket. Don't want to add something to your queue if it's not repeatable or tune related.

 

Yeah, even the subtle shuddering on older 87 tunes felt more like something mechanical than something ignition-related. No change in engine feel, no change in sound, rpm, etc. Just this weird physical oscillation. Maybe very minor engine fluctuations are triggering a resonance in the drive train. Weird behavior either way.

 

Im happy with 91 gear lock. Everything is buttery smooth so far. Just need some Boost now to make this truck even better. Maybe LT Kit to xD 3” lift getting boring

 

I can't for the life of me understand anyone upgraded from B03 to B04 and saying they feel their truck runs worse!? Not letting shit settle I do agree is likely the only culprit. B03 was a poor calibration - even without the tune, upgrading to B04 smoothes out the transmission, engine / vibes, and as recently shown - produces more power/torque.

I've fallen prey to the itch to flash, drive a few miles, say it doesn't run right, reflash, clear memory, etc., UNLESS you have a MAJOR issue like harsh shifting that wasn't present before or audible / excessive knocking, run out a few days of driving before assuming something is wrong.

 

Clearing learned values even on the stock tune (4B04) causes a lot of stumbling for quite some time. I'd say it took maybe 10-20 driving cycles.
