    Whole lotta stuff
SUA setups typically have longer shackle configurations, regardless of the fabbed hanger. I say fabbed, because to get anywhere near good geometry and cycling for SUA the stock hanger needs to be replaced. If you're staying SOA, the hangers still provide better geometry and are stronger when taking abuse. Playing with the shackle length with SOA allows for better droop depending on which leaf pack you have.

So either way, hangers are an upgrade. Depending on what you want to do with your truck, you can make that decision on which spring configuration is best for you down the line.

There are compromises with SUA, like ground clearance, the springs allow more side sway because the main leaf isn't in a slight arc line hanger to hanger, it dips way down under the axle. Most people like more than 1-1.5" lift with SUA, and they aren't any better at reducing axle wrap. Benefits are you have more up travel for absorbing bumps. It's a good low lift solution, but you should know that you need it, otherwise I think SOA is practical and it works.

Installed my HH this weekend, boy removing the rivets is a PITA! Well worth it though truck handles better in the rear. The factory hangers look like they were stamped out of a street sign compared to the hammer hangers!

I might have to go the poly bushing route. This is at full droop. Passenger side does its normal thing. The drive side only articulates enough to be about 1" shy in terms of droop compared to the passenger. The brake lines are plenty long (could probably support 12" travel shocks) and me e-locker harness coming down to the 3rd member has some slack in it.

The other thing to consider is that simulating droop from the comfort of our driveways is a close approximation. But I suspect there will be something about the wheel and truck in motion that will cause the leaf spring/shackle to fully articulate.

edit - and don't look at my jacking method. my driveway is sloped enough that my normal approach didn't work for some reason. And I never got under the truck while it was jacked up like this.

The struggle is real to raise a lifted truck, but it looks like a Jenga game under your truck. I scored a pair of 3' jack stands off CL for $50 which have been so helpful.

So are those stock leaves plus 3-leaf AAL? I couldn't get completely stock packs to droop to where the shackle got horizontal bff11207-8b83-4926-a67b-677c4b4d3f50_1.d0ae219c2079729306803d68d4c89e63.jpg

Damn dude, that looks sketchy. What I do, is jack from the rear diff, and raise it up as high as the jack will allow. Then I put jack stands on the frame in front of my leafs. Then as you lower the jack, the body of the truck stays put and axle droops out. I do have to remove tires to achieve full droop though.

@EatSleepTacos yes, very sketchy. But only jacked it up measure the droop. I wasn't actually working on the truck and would never leave it like that for more than a minute.

That's good at least. I'd still be worried about it slipping and you getting hurt, or the truck getting hurt on the way down. Just trying to look out for you is all.

Appreciate it. Never took the wheels off. So it should have been okay. That kind what the suspension is for. That way I could say I "jumped it". Hahaha.
Plus if something broke, that just means I get to upgrade something else. Ha

    Appreciate you looking out though...

Once I get my 12" shocks in next week I wanna lift the back of the truck a couple feet off the ground with a fork lift and drop it :D I think it'd be cool to watch the suspension work since I've put so much into it.

Finally installed the hammer hangers, some new shackles with poly bushings, and stage 1 deavers...it’s like driving a completely different truck. Insanely smooth! Removing the old shackles wasn’t bad at all thanks to my plasma. Got everything installed in about 3 hours.

Anybody have HH, B110, and Dakar meds? Is this combo good? I feel like in my brain I’ve gone through multiple ideas with this being my latest. This is what I’ll do until I decide to do a shock relocate. I’ll have a close to 200lbs of constant load from my RTT.

I had that combo but with dakar super heavy's (HD + extra AAL) and it rode amazing. I also HIGHLY recommend poly bushings in the OEM shackles.
