I am wondering if he is referring to the dump that happened this past summer when the latest TSB from Toyota came out?

Yes, that's pretty explicit in the instructions. Mine was a 2016 with the 04B04 as well. It seemed it was having trouble connecting to wherever the tunes were downloading from, because it wouldn't download any files at all.

Worked after about 20 mins. Good to go.

Gear locking has confirmed... I need 4.88's.

    Yes and..
    Well
Maybe shift tables that use engine load as part of shift logic instead of gas pedal..
2 fully new (coded from scratch) shift routine subs to control downshifts..
    MT single accel torque
Patching how engine load is calculated (which oem code is God awful I think)
    ....
    ....
    ...

    We are working hard!

    This is awesome!

Have you found yet if there are areas in RAM for taking control of some of the stability control and other functions. (Diff lock, 4x4 shifting, ESC, etc.)?

    Yes an no.
For safety reasons I will not touch anything regarding stability control, traction etc.

Toyota was nice enough to leave enough null jumps that we will be designing our own 4Low shift routine that works completely independent of other stuff.

But more on all this at a later date!

I figured with the safety stuff. I was thinking along the lines of a software solution for the people that want the locker anytime mod, and those of us that want 2wd low range. I'm currently putting a plug and play harness together, but if there is the possibility to get it in software I may not bother....

I've not completely looked through code to see how it all functions. Multiple people have told us locker anytime is dangerous.

Unless there is a distinct difference between "anytime" and "all the time"

So just to clarify for myself when the 04B02 performance tune comes out the Flash Manager will automatically pick up that it is available and just download it for me for flashing?

All the time is not a good idea. Anytime could be "limited to under xxx MPH" and I would think that could be considered safe.

I hear there's a volunteer for M/T tune development.. He may even be from VA.

    :cookiemonster:

Actually, I'm not kidding. He said he would let you test with his truck.

Anytime is definitely not the same as all the time. I would love to see the locker able to be actuated in any situation 2wd 4hi and 4lo and not be limited to a mph... Obviously, the actuation itself should be limited to a mile per hour. It may not be for everyone but as an option, I would certainly use it.

Also I can hardly wait for modified tunes for gears and oversized tires as I have 5.29s and 35s and am quite heavy, and not having to use GPS for actual speed sounds awesome.

Trying out 87 performance and the shifting seems to be prematurely compared to 91 performance. Imo I do not like it and I'm going to go back to 91P/G.

If I understand this correctly this would be like manifold vacuum controlling when auto transmissions I grew up with shifted. Game changer!

If only Toyota added a manifold pressure sensor... (they didn't)..
