West is correct.

I will tell all (that own fiberglass bottom ones) that you should add a strengthening plate underneath your RTT.
Where the ladder braces against the temt when you pull on it to open.

If you don’t it’s possible to do this. If, you put too much of a load on the roof with the ladder or forget the straps are still attached on the sides.

It does not take much force to do this.
Just wanted to share as I have been using RTTs for awhile now. Don’t think they are fool proof. Or rather a fool can use them...wait ugh




A simple pice of sheet metal glue to the bottom of the RTT where the ladder braces up against it would be a smart design. To prevent this from occurring.

Anyone have any 3rd gen headrests for sale or can point me to some. Got a project I am working on.

 

I have one I’m not using due to car seats you could use. But I would want to be able to reinstall and use eventually.

If you just need one for a template you can use it. But if you need one you can modify/cut/etc. I’m not your huckleberry.

Got a couple items I’m always watching for a deal on.

 

Can you find me a Pyrite Mica camper shell for a 2nd gen short bed for around $300? Paint should be in good condition. No cracks or chips. Prefer carpet lined and either sliding glass sides or windoors. I'd also like it to be a HD version that can hold some weight up top.

Funny, I used to call the guys in that first link roughly bimonthly to see if they got any 3rd gen trade-ins when I was looking for a topper. After about a year of watching I found my unicorn. Dude didn't have it listed for 24hrs before I had cash in his hand. A short 4hr drive later she was on my truck.
