Sitting on 84 Toyota front axle and 89 FJ rear axle, locked front and rear, finally got it back on the ground.
Didn't realize how much work goes into an axle swap. Still got a lot to do but it's getting there.

Yeah, I am going to rebuild it this summer just going back stock.
I regeared the transfer case, stock was 2.3, went up to 6.5. Its like installing a crawl box. Samurai diffs were 3.7, the Toyota's are 4.10 so that helps a little.
Got rebuilt axles, transmission, transfer case, drive shafts and complete new brake system.
Bending all the metal lines takes a while. All that needs rebuilt is the motor.
Drive shafts are at the machine shop being shortened and Crown is making me new soft brake hoses.

 

What is aggravating is that it doesn't go to where they say it will. The road we live on is in shambles. You can see the dirt pack underneath the asphalt it's so broken up. You know when it's scheduled to be resurfaced? 22 years from now. No way it will make it that long. That's how far behind lee county is with resurfacing. There is no money. It was paved back in the early 80's for the first time and that is the only pavement it has received. I agree. Idiots.

 

accurate. the only discussions they are having is how much of this 10 cent increase can go into their pockets so that they won't even be affected by the increase. then less than 10% i bet actually goes to what they say it will.
