Anyone in the CenTex area looking for a cat? Fostering this guy here:

    Elvis

Was dumped at an adoption event and told if they didn't take him, he'd "get rid of him". People suck, but he's got a second chance now.

Bigger cat. Little bit of maine coon in him. Probably about 2-4 years old. Super friendly and loving. Loves to be near ya or in the same room. We would keep him but our three dogs and him aren't giving each other a chance so he's confined to the front half of house. Feel bad for him not being able to be in Living room with us. Super sweet cat though. Very quiet "Meower".

    Fully Vetted and neutered
Fostered through Central Texas Feline Rescue

Can PM for more info or if anyone knows anyone looking for a cat. Thanks in advance.

According to the shelter he was a "one owner"....and was a give up for "personal" reasons. So yeah, whoever had him, had him for most of his life. I guess I shouldn't judge too much. Perhaps they had their reasons. I'm sure he's very confused as to why he is where he is. My daughter loved on him for a good long time, brushed him and fed him some snacks. He was sweet, very gentle and affectionate. Hopefully someone can over look his age and see the soul behind his eyes.

    Oh I understand that phenomenon...

We have two foster failures from about 12 years ago (lost one in Jan) and then just adopted two more about two weeks ago. I've got another one that I'd love to keep, but I don't want eight.

We would keep him but feel bad he can't hang with us with the dogs. But it's better than a cage in a shelter by a long shot.

And we are apparently on the lookout for a pregnant Orange Tabby my wife informed me. She wants to keep the mom and one or two kittens. I really have no say, so I just say OK :ballchain::rofl:

    That's how it happens...

My wife is heavily involved with a local rescue (may become a board member soon), and has progressed from bringing cats home to having them delivered. I say "no", and she says "no problem" when another one shows up....

I'm the same way. Whenever we go to the pet store to get supplies, my wife wants to go look at all the cats in those fish tank style individual enclosures (not much bigger than one either)...makes me too sad to see them like that. They either look desperate for attention or really sad like they've given up. Ruins my day :(

That is how I got #3 4 days from death row at a shelter. First time I met her she put her claw in my thumb when I was playing with her. She pulled it out no blood fell in love with the cat. She does have a mean streak with the other two females. She does love her play time. Guess she had me at hello

That's how I fell in love with my cat Harley. He was left behind by a roommate at my old place and the other roommates told me that Harley was "an asshole", I knew right away we were going to get along. He plays rough but I do a good job of encouraging it lol.

No matter how much I wind him up he never goes for your face, I had cats growing up that would claw/bite your eyes out if they wanted to.

The GF rescued Smokey a couple of days before he'd have gone on the meat wagon, too. They were going to euthanize him because he ranked so low on the sociability scale that they use, even for a feral. He spent the first week being extremely skittish and then one evening after we'd turned the lights off he hopped up on the bed with us. After that he decided that he was a lap cat.

I hold all of you in the highest regard for saving these amazing little guys from a certain death. A lot of them just need a second chance and given the opportunity they will make a faithful companion for life. With that said, they are still ungrateful little bastards that expect regular feeding, to be petted when they want it and to be left alone when they don’t. I think cat people just like the challenge of noncompliance.
