Painting flares.. I know you guys have..

Idk why... but I read the whole thing thinking

"Hes talking about roadside emergency flares... why would he paint them?"

I dont have enough truck to run those bushwackers... Im running 265's and for them to look right the truck needs a lift and 33's imo

Just put the red flares on your black truck with a “punisher edition” bed decal

I used plastidip in my wheel wells after my CMC, on some damage to my steel bumper and used it to blackout my emblems. Two years and its held up longer than my hood, which accrued a ton of rock chips before the 3M film. The fact that plastidip is rubberized allows it to flex and deform rather than flake or chip off, making it quite durable in my opinion.

 

Professionally painted and i 3m the entire thing just cuz they were so sweet. They do take a brunt of damage from rocks and pebbles and wind damage so 3m on any fenders is a good way to protect and finish underneath

 

Im heavily leaning towards plastidip.. But.. anybody know how much paint it would take to paint these.. also any idea on what it would cost for the paint?

 

My next project is going to be raptor spraying all of my flares. I had a scratched on my front bumper that bothered me a lot so I bought a spray kit on Amazon to spray my front and rear bumpers. Really happy with the results and made my taco look much more agressive. The flares will make everything come together better. I’ll post some pics when I’m done, just waiting for a nice warm day to knock it out.

 

They make a matte clear coat haha.

 

Specifically for plastidip? Well ill be damned.. off to look this shit up.

 

Oops. Idk for plasti, for regular paint for sure but I can't imagine there wouldn't be for plasti as well.

 

They actually do make a "glossifier"

 

I knew about the glossifier, but was unsure if that was matte or shiny

 

It claims to give it a shiny gloss finish ..
