The shortest 1.5in arm is perfect for me and puts the phone in easy finger reach. The only time that I used my longer metal arm was for taking a video.

Got mine ordered. Looking forward to getting it installed and in use.

Curious about those of you who have installed magnetic mounts and your thoughts on them. I plan to use the Scosche Qi charging mount if you all have had good experiences.

Also plan to pick up a radio cradle later.

I used a Scosche Qi magnetic mount, and am very happy with it. It charges quickly and the magnets hold really well!

I use it as well and it holds up very well. If you are mounting it to a RAM ball, then you will need to drill the back of the Qi charger. I got the idea from @LA_Stu and it worked perfectly.

Thanks. I was also hoping to wire the Qi charger up to the Qi charging button and planned to control the power by the switch and leave the USB slot open. Has anybody done that yet?

I haven't tried that, but I did add a new USB charger that is hidden behind the dash trim, and I plugged the Schosche into that. The USB cable goes through one of the holes in the DMM, so it's reasonably clean looking.

That is a really good idea. I may do that as well. Then I would just get one of the USB power modules (when they come out) for a second ram mount that won't have a wireless charger attached to it. Thanks for the idea!

If you do this, keep in mind that the Scosche USB cable needs 5V, so I don't think you can just wire it up to the OEM Qi switch. I'm no expert in vehicle wiring, but I'm fairly certain this is the case, and that the Qi switch carries 12V. If I'm correct, then you'd probably be best off just adding a USB charger behind the dash, like I did. If you wanted you could connect that to the OEM Qi switch, giving you the ability to turn charging on/off for the Scosche.

Edited to add some photos of my setup...

Cool, thanks for that info. I might just do it the way you did as it would be a simpler approach. I suppose it doesn't matter if the phone is charging the all the time while up on the mount......

I have the cheotec wireless charger. But it’s probably the same situation. I’m no wiring expert either so I’ll have to do more research before I dive into this. Thanks for the info!

Is there a 12V line back there to tap into for a USB plug or do we have to add-a-fuse?

How long do orders usually take? 3/3 wasn’t that long ago.

I got my order almost 3 weeks ago. Order was missing the phone mount. Installed the DMM, easy, but still can't mount the phone. I have emailed and PM'd. Got one response saying the phone mount would ship that day. Still haven't seen it or been able to contact seller. Don't know what happened to the guy.

I've always wanted one of these mounts... but not hearing good things about communication and shipping. :/

He was really responsive and quick to get orders out. He was also very active in this thread, it is very strange that he is not replying to anyone.

Folks do take vacations or have unexpected problems that come up. He's established a great track record, so I'd give him a week or two to do his thing?

Just got my DMM installed yesterday. Wondering if anybody has a suggestion for a mount to use with a V1 radar detector?
