    If truck is equipped with auto trans, it is the ECT button.changes shifts. Forget what it actually stands for.

    i suppose I have never looked too close once I notice it is automatic in the past, always just keep on walking, I will keep my eyes open next time if I ever see one

    Electronically Controlled Transmission. "Power" mode uses higher RPM shift points for improved acceleration with a load or on incline. A lot of people on here have said the leave their switch set to Power all the time. I don't, as my opinion is more RPM = more engine wear. Like any moving part, the more cycles it performs, no matter how well lubricated, it will wear more.

    I’ve had a couple of base models. No tach,no radio, no clock,even had an extra cab with no back seat.
    Note: I am talking pre Tacoma’s 89-95

    The bare bones edition. My first truck was an ‘82 S-10 and that thing was pretty stripped down but did have a tach and radio at least haha

    offtopic, i had a '79 corolla hatchback once in the early 90s that had no heater or defrost but it was probably broken?! couple hundred $ car used then .... hard challenge to deliver pizzas during the winter in the midwest, always scraping the inside windows :(
