Hmmm, in Texas you’d barely be keeping up.

I'm averaging 18-19mpg on both the 87 and 91 Performance tunes in mixed city/highway driving. Did a 150 mile road trip last weekend that also included about 60 miles of 4 wheel off-roading on 91 Performance, and still managed an 18 mpg average.

must be why there are soooo many speeding tickets issued here in Colorado - but you only get partial credit - have to include California. Funny part is they can't drive on wet, dry or frozen pavement. Daily traffic report is the same regardless - wreck, wreck, wreck. Damn people. Go back where you came from!

That’s because you’re enjoying the “1st gear pull”

Been on 93GL for about 120 miles. S/ECT is really fun especially first and second gear. Lots of power and acceleration. Shifted over to D and forgot to disable ECT and it drove fine for me. Averaging about 17mpgbut I’m heavy on the throttle. 93 seems quite a bit more responsive than 91 to me. Love the tip in but I was driving with PC until 1.05 released so I am used to responsive throttle.

Agree about always being cognizant of having the rear end locked. Totally agree on the difference in torque.

But 8” ring gear on 35” and 37” tires vs 8.75” ring gear on 33”. My runner probably weighed almost the same as new stock tacoma.

I guess for me there is no need to use the anytime lock for one street application. I could see at a boat ramp or something similar where you need the traction. But not everyday street driving, so it would be limited use. On the other hand off pavement use could be much more viable. Wet grass on uphill, lock the rear. Slick mud, lock the rear. Need more traction but not 4 wheel drive, lock the rear. Would be nice to be able to get some wheel speed with the rear locked for the slippery stuff aka 4hi with locked rear.

I do realize that there will probably some idiot that will lock it on pavement, turn the wheel, stomp on it, and then report back that he broke an axle shaft because of anytime lock. User beware.

Flashed TSB (super easy) and then 04A61 87 Base (super easy). Stock 2018 DCSB. First impressions are very good. If I couldn't hear the exhaust, I probably would not have noticed it shifting...buttery smooth. I should put 500ish miles in the next few weeks and will provide feedback.

Absolutely loving the 04B04 93 P+GL! If it had shift points a little closer to the ECT shiftpoints I would be in heaven. ECT+S engaged launches off the line. I’ve still got stock tires for now and the tip in is spot on for me. Thanks @OVTune

Just flashed the tsb. Only drove 5 miles or so. Interesting...
Gonna drive it for a bit before I switch back to 1.05 to compare.

Its coming... handheld that is. So not fair to say "We'll always have to take the inconvenient route with crappy results".

Gains through turbo are immensely easier to achieve. And likely more impactful to shortening engine life.

With that said, a 7.5s to 5.5s quarter mile is pretty darn impressive.
