    I freaking love it, man!

I did a bunch of practicing and then busted out my cam tab gussets, spindle gussets, and my limit strap mounts.

What I noticed, though, is that welding seems to be either really enjoyable or massively frustrating. Those damn cam tabs were my friggin’ nemesis, but now they’re done! Can’t wait to pull the bed and do my shock relocation and frame beefage :D

Nats....just got up from being sick and checking things. I had NO IDEA that there was a local Colorado Trading post.

I put my Tonneau cover and Pred steps up on TW and got a ton of folks that wanted me to ship them.

I then hit Craigslist and sold both for asking price within a week.

So for those that support local folks.....RCI is doing a "TAX" sale at %15 off

Just got off the phone with them.

Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of the plates down the centerline like you're describing (I've had some bad luck in the past with plastic tanks, so that's where that came from).

My "bumper fetish" is more about working-out the weight so that I can set-up a decent suspension (again, nothing fantastic, prolly a little taller, but nothing more than a few inches), and "weight" will include a little winch as well. As I get more familiar with "underneath" on this thing, I hope that I'll get a better feeling for what's hangin' down and what's fragile and all of that. I might be able to fab-up a few of the simpler ones, but we'll see.

As far as weight goes, you'll always find a way to add more is what most use around here.

Plenty of other guys here know way more than I do ( I'm still the "relatively new guy" so I just regurgitate what others here have told me)

That's how all my welding experience has gone.

Welding up parts on the bench is great fun. Welding my motor mount perches on while sitting in an uncomfortable position on my front diff trying to figure out how to move the gun properly - not so much.

I highly recommend getting a gas tank skid if your truck has a metal gas tank before you dent it like I did :burp:

    Preach.

I had a blast doing my spindles on the table, but welding the inside cam tab gussets was about as fun as getting punched in the junk.

    Are things going any better?

    I can’t imagine.

Overhead MIG under a truck already makes me want to vomit.

I do. And probably a good thing after Middle St Vrain to Coney Flats last year. Gouged the shit out of it and my driver leaf spring.

Agreed on skids before bumpers if it's getting trail time, especially out here.

Unfortunately too much to do. Need to pull old counters and back splash, move right side vanity over .25", and insert new additional vanity cabinet between existing left and right cabinets to replace a stupid sit down vanity drawer between them.

Meh, 32's. Only a half inch less clearance than most that are running 33's. And it's called bad spotting
