Sorry also yes, I’m still going to run it on Lpg. Petrol is bloody expensive here. Currently it’s $1.40per Liter. Hurts the pocket

@australian hilux I linked you over to a LARGE thread on 4.0L supercharger mods. TONS of great information there that is right up your alley.

Yeah I just looked at that. You think going the 2.5” is the way to go?

You *should* run some other mods to run the 2.5 pulley. Minimum would be upgraded fuel pump and boost referencing (you'll have to read the posts on this one). I would be VERY careful running the LP with the supercharger and extra careful with a smaller pulley. Honestly, one thing I might recommend if you're looking to go for the 2.5 pulley would be the 7th injector.

Disclaimer: I really don't know much about injecting LP...... but it would be interesting to know if you could run the 7th on petrol while running the LP. That way the 7th could trim your lean conditions as needed while sipping fuel from the tank. Is this even possible to do?

I have no idea. You lost me when you mentioned the 7th injector. Lol!
When I spoke to the guys in aus who sell these supercharger they said I would have no issues with running on LP providing the dyno is done to suit it.
With out going to the trouble of changing fuel pumps what pulley do you think will be enough to make a difference?

I agree with this, there are a handful of supporting mods i would do before ever going to a 2.5 pulley. But i am very conservative and am trying to maintain reliability, after all thats why i bought a toyota. With the correct mods though, the 4.0 does well with boost.

OP, i also think you should be very careful trying to run LP. Im sure it can be done, but the tune should be conservative (like the TRD tune). Also i think youd be blazing trail because there arent many folks running LP, so youd have to consider what support would be out there if you ever did run into any issues. Just something to bear in mind.

Can you please tell me what car you have and for what engine? I’m assuming the RA60F is for the gear box? Just going to find out if my gearbox is compatible to suit what you have.

Yeah RA60 is the 6 speed for v6 Tacoma’s here, R155f is the 5 speed but it’s only behind l4 trucks. Never knew they were 5speeds in 1gr Hiluxes

Apart from the auto, the 5sd is the only manual that came out with the 1grfe. The 4x4 Hilux like mine has a stronger box due to being a 4x4 than the 2 wheel drive Ute. I also have a Hilux 2 wheel drive Ute with the 1grfe and a 5sp manual in it. I have done 398k kms in it. I had the top end rebuild as I ran it on LP so over time it burnt out the valves so now it is suited to LP. The box was rebuilt at 370k kms. This was due to constant towing and sometimes towing well over the cars specs. I tow 1.8T every day with that Ute and apart from box being done which was only because I was towing in 5th then car has been the best work Ute ever.

Just for shits and giggles, here is my beast of a work Ute! She gets worked hard and it loves it. I only went to a dual cab because I have to start taking my little son with me sometimes when my wife is working. As you can see it has a massive 270L LP tank on the back E076DAB9-CA2F-4481-BE51-C093D5244A46.jpg5CB3905C-891D-40DF-8F2B-E32E551F508B.jpg AA3C475A-1583-487A-80E4-649CAF4183E5.jpg

Im was searching some online earlier, and i think i saw a picture of your gear box. Do you know if the KUN26R has an input shaft bearing/pilot bearing? The RA60F does not have this, and if your gearbox does, then im guessing the 1GR for Austrailia is a little different - to accomodate the pilot bearing

KUN26R is a chassis designation not a trans assembly designation, I believe.

Edit: GUN25R should be your vehicle code

Yes that is correct. I didn’t know this until the other day. I’m still working it all out myself too. Lol
