Damn. Have a trip to vegas in two weeks. Didn't even think about this until now. I don't yet have the new ID just my regular DL. Have a valid passport so even though it says DL will be accepted (since CA is one of the few states with an extension), I'm still taking my passport. Not going to chance having some asshat TSA deny me. The tables are calling...

    I can understand why.

Few of the people I’ve met around here have fakes. They’re REALLY good. Good enough to the point where they scan at a register to buy alcohol.

The Cali ID’s already have pretty good security features like the hologram, raised signature, embossed birthday, etc. The few fakes I’ve held in my hand are absolutely indistinguishable from the real thing.

I just booked an appointment online. What's weird is when I plugged in my info, it gave me one next week. I bounced to check my calendar and went back and it timed out. Punched in my info again and it presented me with a May 7th earliest... WTF, right? Punched it in again and it changed to June.

Get a Passport card. Easier to carry around that your real passport. You can use it in Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.

PA is one of the states because their ID’s are commonly faked. I knew a few kids at my high school with Pennsylvania ID’s.

Yeah when I needed to sort out my registration they told me I had to go in person to the DMV (ridiculous) and when I went to make an appointment online, the EARLIEST one at any DMV within 50 miles was 3 months out....which would make me insanely late on my registration. So I had to wake up early and wait in a long ass line. I hate the DMV so much

There's this great new thing called "Online Renewal"

Or a AAA branch or title shop.

No big thing. Haven't left the country since I did the passport... not planning on it either.
Newsflash... AAA Branch or title shop will not be doing your renewal until you have the REALID. You MUST go into the DMV with the required docs.

    Oh my B.

Waiting in line isn't so bad, I had to go there twice to get my black and yellow plates sorted out. I got there an hour and a half before they opened and I was out of there in probably an hour and a half.

God do I love title shops now. There is a title shop next to my local DMV that does literally everything except for a few that charges a $40 fee. I'd say that's worth it for waiting in line five minutes.

    AAA is free.

Since when? I transferred my trailer at the beginning of the year with the title shop no issue.

It was partially my fault...I mailed a check in shortly before the deadline but they didn't process it until nearly a month later and then told me I was late on it. Which was BS but arguing with the DMV is a lost cause. I needed to pay another $50 in late fees and for some stupid reason you cant do that online or over the phone, or mail in the late fee but I wasn't going to risk having them fuck up and tell me I'm late again . I'll only do the initial payment online from now on.

He is. New DM's get lost in his inbox so I use the same DM I've been using for two years to contact him, never had to wait more than a few days.
