I'd be tempted to paint some FF on the frame between the slider plate and the rails as best you can. I saw a photo the other day of someone who removed bolt-on sliders and there was a TON of surface rust in the gap. I always had my suspicions that would be the case, but to see it was eye-opening.

As soon as I strike an arc capillary action will take place and make it so thin it'll burn off I bet

I have some BS for everyone.

Is it just me or does your Tacoma seemingly ride and run better with everything you do to it?
    New shocks? Rides better.
    Oil change? Runs better.
    Wash and wax? Rides better!
Lol I know it’s in my head but you fellow neurotic Tacoma owners gotta know what I’m talking about.

It's looking more and more like I'm going to be stuck plowing driveways on Sunday afternoon, but I'm not going to rule out showing up in Bangor on Sunday morning just yet. The GF is actually ahead of schedule on packing for her trip so I'm freed up on that front, so it'll just depend on what the weather ends up doing.

The biggest difference I made to how mine rode was to size up to 265/75R16 Duratracs. The bigger tires smoothed out the ride over potholes and gaps in the pavement considerably. Beyond that...meh.

I would really hope it'd ride better with new shocks!

The rest of it though, I agree, I know it's in my head but it just has a new, exciting feel to it again. I like driving a nice, clean, freshly washed truck even if it's not a Tacoma :anonymous:

Yeah the shocks were an obvious one. I said that to add... shock value...

Although, a few months back I went for an inspection and it turned out that I had a blown Billie in the rear before I extended my bump stops so I had to throw in some cheapo shocks for a sticker and the ride is worse than one blown bilstein! New shocks did not ride better in that case!

I have some OMEs going in maybe today though.

Hm... maybe I'll drop my sliders this spring or just hang them down a bit and clean off the rust and paint under them.... let them dry then fluid film the hell of of them or just take soft wax and just pile it on there and compress the sliders down to it to seal them in place.....

I like the wax idea, i sprayed the hell out of mine but I've never looked under them since they've been mounted.

Yes to all of the above! New map lights? Better acceleration! Re-organized arm rest? Exhaust sounds better! Ha!
Edit: my UniFilter just arrived, I bet it rides smoother after this mod!

That could have been a bad way to start the weekend. Got pulled over for going 39 in a 30 at a speed trap .Luckily only got a written warning. There were 3 cops there all with radar runs standing outside cars as people came over the crest of a hill. 4 other people pulled over while I was there.

It baffles me, how people think they can run their chops and think they won’t get a ticket or it’s the cops fault.
