It's the prerunner access cab with the sport package, with a 6 speed manual. I previously owned an 05 that I drove to Sacramento from LA to buy. I have seen 2 others in the area that are from other states, and a search on autotrader within all distances yielded a total of 3. With the off-road pkg., hundreds. Does anyone here have a truck with this package? I really miss the one I had. On the Toyota site, it wont even allow you to build one.

What is it that you are looking for specifically? The scooped hood? The color matching handles and rear bumper? If so just mod what you buy? You could "sock" it to and have your look.

well, the truck looks way better all around imo, the color matching, and I like the lsd. But, i'm just curious why there aren't any available.
On a side note, apparently the 2011 2wd 4.0's aren't available in a manual except in the x-runner..........pretty sad.

09+ does not have mechanical LSD on the sports, all models have the same auto LSD (uses the brakes). The ONLY advantage you get with a sport is color matched panels/hood scoop. Easily fixed on an off-road/SR5. However, it does seem access cab sports are pretty rare.

when i bought mine, it was the only one sitting on the lot other than i think one other sitting up front, they had a ton of the standard ones that were not the sport package. But in my opinion when i sat the two trucks side by side the color matching grill etc looked so much better then the chrome and i was drawn back to the sport package every time

Yeah, exactly. You have a 4x4, those are rare too with the sport pkg., but still much easier to come by than the prerunners.

All the Access cabs around here seem to be prerunner v6 auto TRD off road. Don't see many manuals, don't see hardly any 4x4s.

the off road package is was more functional. Plus All the new taco's have the auto LSD standard. If you like the hood scoop trade with someone. the OEM color match grill is off color, esp the silver metalic, you should just get it sanded and repainted correctly, also the bumper too. If you live in burbank, look up Blackhawk, he'll color match you right, can prob even do door handles if you take them off.

I may have missed it in the eBay link, but does this '08 Sport not have a back up cam? I understand it's an AC, but I thought the cam was also part of the TRD package.

Toyota makes hundreds of thousands of Tacoma's so I doubt it's super rare. It may be rare for a particular geographical region of the country but probably not rare over all.
