Plano Sportsman trunks are great https://www.planomolding.com/sportsmans-trunk-large, look at zoro.com and you can get them cheaper than most everywhere else.

If you are worried about dust go to Home Depot and pick up some of this https://www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-K...M-Medium-Gap-Weatherseal-Tape-V25WA/100017014 and some Gorilla glue and gut it to fit the lid and it will seal it up pretty well.

I have two large and one medium trunk in the truck along with my fridge and water containers that I keep under a tonneau cover setting below my mid-height rack.

The eagle is the biggest version. I think it can do 3 people, but im not sure. 1200 is an awesome price! I think new is 2800.

I paid 2500 for my Sparrow X. I love it. Ive had it for 7 months. Camped a few times, but many more to come. This is my 3rd tent. I see myself keeping it longer than the others. 20 seconds to setup, 1 minute to close. And most of that is walking around the truck. :D

Surfers out there, how is everyone strapping boards down with an rrt on the rig? I’m currently running an RCI bed rack that’s shorter than the cab so the tent sits just above the cab.

I would, but I don’t have a hard top. Running a CVT so I’d imagine you wouldn’t be able to, especially with having to take the cover on and off.

I don't surf but I do kayak. I just put it on top of the CVT and tie it down with ratchet straps. I haven't lost it yet.

@FlavorChef7, I second @InfernoChalupa re: not going any smaller than the Mt. Shasta. You won't regret it and your family is hopefully only going to get bigger from here on. As to the anti-condensation mat. Totally worth it as it will keep you, your mattress and floor dry. I ran without one for about 6 months before I bit the bullet and paid for one. So happy I did. Also kinda wish I had just made one, but whatever. My time was worth more to me back then so I bought it.

If i were you i would try to see one in person before buying one. I was so set on the shasta until i saw the size in person, 56in was alot smaller than i thought. I would have been a little bummed if i had ordered the shasta and opened it up to see how small it is for the first time. A standard queen is 60 in so just keep that in mind. If you are planning on kids or a dog i might just get the rainier.

Might look at front runner wolf packs...
    I got 4 (2 with extended lids) & like them a lot after 2 or 3 trips
-reasonably water & dust resistant & don’t weigh much at all
    -won’t break the bank
-vertical sides for efficient packing (done with the action packers myself)
    -they nest well
-perfect sized so they can’t get too heavy to lift

On the Tepui tent, is there a way to pound out some dents on the bottom aluminum? Looks all riveted shut. Looking at a used one, just curious if fixable on my side.

How is the Alu Cab on the trails? Does it feel stable? Not too top-heavy? I'm looking at that setup myself, w/KB VooDoo rack.

    Thanks,
    G

    Good day fellow Taco owners,
I'm interested in purchasing my first RTT setup. So far I only know a couple of brands like CVT and TEPUI. Looking for the beat deals out there so if you guys have any brand suggestions could you list them? Thank you in advanced.

I already have a CVT but if I had it to do over I'd go with this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KCFKPX0
It looks exactly like mine. Probably the same thing with a different branding and lower price tag.
