    Hi Everyone.

When it comes to 2nd Gen Tacomas i'm kind of a Noob and I want to regear my Diffs.

my Stock 4.10 Gears do not like my 33X12.5 inch Tires and neither does my wallet (Gas Milage)

But with all the reading i have done, i havn't seen anyone on this forum or Toyotanation that has talked about regearing. I know the 6 cyl has pleny of power to push my 33's but the 4 stuggles.

I have worked with people on toyota pickups and first gen Tacomas regearing to 5.29. but again havn't see ne thing on 2nd Gen

Is there any company out there that sells new gearing for 2 gen's???

I am never planning on going bigger than a 33" (unless they come up with a solid Axle Swap Kit hahaha

    Therefore i only need 4.56 or 4.88

does anyone know of a reliable company that sells these. thank you in advance for your attention to this. it helps out Alot.

4.56 would be the best. Othwerwise if you went with 4.88 and drove on the highway alot your gas milage would go to crap. But, you would see a definite power increase.

Can you guys explain the gearing thing to me? I am lost when it comes to how different gearing ratios effect power and gas mileage... Thanks in advance...

No i'm not talking about dropping the Diff......i'm talking about switching the gearing......$500 is not a complete diff...thats just the gearing....a complete diff runs about 900-1200 bucks

I think the confusion on this thread is with the word drop. By dropping the diff, Krookz meant removing the diff...it sounds like hashemg thought drop meant adding a drop kit...correct me if I'm wrong.

    I mean the same thing........

Dropping the Diff out of the truck is not the problem....onece the diff is out you have to gut out the 4.10 from the diff and reinstall the 4.88....thats where the expensive labor comes into play.

Just want to add, if you haven't done a gear swap before, take it to a shop, pay the price its not as easy as 1-2-3.

Yeah its not easy and not cheap. 4.88 would be to tall for your truck really need 35's for 4.88s. Im running the 4.56 and loving them but your looking @ spending atleast 800$ in gears then installing cost. check this site out, this man does awesome installs.
    http://www.gearinstalls.com/

    also.
eastcoastgear. and randysgear, would be the only places I would buy gears from.
