All this talk of being born outside Texas makes me think of that King of the Hill episode where he tried to get Native Texan license plates and finds out he was born in New York.

That is amazing, even if obvious on the map. When I hauled son #1 home from BMW school in Phoenix, the rental truck and we were in El Paso from there about sundown. It was still coming on morning when we finally hit the Hill Country, and another 6 hours home....
Returning to Texas by myself from taking him to WyoTech in Laramie, I went through Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico - and hit a motel around Amarillo. Took all day the next day to get home.
If we go visit Michigan, the state that we spend the most hours in? Texas?

Yep, Bergstrom was still an AFB, I flew commercial out of "AUS", and you could still have watched me race a Hobby Stock at Austin Speed-O-Rama, except, you weren't here yet!
