So about a week ago or so I was driving my 2005 Tacoma 4.0 and not even a minute after going down the road it completely shut down without warning. Towed the truck home and started in investigate.

Now, I'm used to cars I've worked on in the past and didn't hear the fuel pump so I was thinking that was the problem. (Of course, later on I found that the fuel pump doesn't prime when you turn the key.)

So I've replaced the fuel pump and relay. The pump is working, pulled one line off and gas came out while cranking so I know that's not an issue. I checked the fuel at the manifold by depressing the valve on the fitting and nothing. Even pulled the line off.

The truck is getting spark, just no fuel. I thought maybe I had my lines backwards at the pump, but I've swapped them back and forth just for the hell of it.

Anyone got any idea what I'm missing here?

Where did you pull the line and see fuel coming out? Before the fuel filter? Is the filter completely plugged?

The line I pulled was one on top of the fuel pump.

The only filter I see is under the hood I assume and I disconnected it (also you can blow through it so shouldn't be blocked). I looked for another one, but all I know is I read on here and there is one in the tank somewhere -- though I'm not sure.

The only codes I had was for the MAF and I cleaned it, put it back together and it cleared. Also tried cranking with it off.

Thanks for the welcome, I've been a lurker for years. Ya'll are quick to respond lol

The only fuel filter is in the tank.

Something is telling your injectors to not fire. Or you have no compression and are just flooding your cylinders.

Check a few passenger side spark plugs and see if they are wet.

If its not even making it to the fuel rail its gotta be a kinked line or some kind of blockage

All the lines look fine. I'm not sure which line it is, but the one with the green port for checking fuel pressure (I assume) I tried putting air through it -- felt restricted but I could kind of hear it near the gas tank so I'm not sure there.

I did pull one of the spark plugs on the passenger side, it was wet and getting spark.

Also the engine runs fine if you put gas in the intake.

I'm leaning toward a line blockage maybe, but you'd think it'd run rough before dying. But it was like you turned the key off.

Amazing. I didn't know our trucks had a fuel pressure test port.

I didn't see that line you were pointing at from the link I sent you. According to that link, they checked the pressure from the line circled in red.

Ok yeah. I didn’t check that one because I wasn’t real sure how to get it off without breaking something.

Push the plastic retainer off, then depress the two plastic tabs, and pull up.

I couldn't remember if it was Toyota or some other manufacturer that I had to make shift a tool out of a plastic marker to be able to pull the fuel lines off the clips.

I got it off, I pulled the line off and get fuel from the rubber hose side. Not sure what PSI, I don't own a fuel pressure gauge. I'll pick one up tomorrow.

The green cap is the test port for the evaporative emission system, totally separate from the fuel delivery lines
