Hey guys. I'm working with Just-Installs on a group buy for 1st generation extra cab sub boxes (see attached image). His current box is built for extra-cabs prior to 01-04.

He told me that he would give a free box in compensation for lending him your truck for a few days to measure and build a box for the 01-04 years. He's located in CHICO, CA. If you're interested, PM your information and I'll forward it to him.

    • 10" sub: .45 cubic ft (polyfill will help subwoofer performance if it requires more... provided). I'll double check on the 12" sub specs.
    • Compartments under rear seats are still accessible (the box has slots for the seats but still allow the seats to move up and down)
    • Front seats slide all the way back. Recline a few clicks but not all the way back (this will be confirmed with the 'test truck')
    • Boxes come with a self tapping screw for installation

Let me know if there's more information you guys need.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
This is the e-mail from Justin on 5/5:

I still have to start fabricating the 12" so I wont be able to calculate the exact airspace till I'm finished but it should be around .85 ft3 plus I use acoustic stuffing to make the box "sound" bigger which works really well. And the 12" wont be much larger than the 10", just a little taller and the sub will be at a slightly steeper angle.

I will. Gonna revamp the whole audio so it will take awhile. Right now...trying to figure out what I want to cover the box with. ;)

Update: Drop my truck off to Justin on Friday...ran into a some mishaps...right now...everything is almost the same between his original 99 box to the 01-04 but the arm rest...the 01-04 arm rest has two storage actually three. One on the back...which no one ever uses and secondly...the one right below the main top arm rest...and the main arm rest has to flip up to access the bottom and it can't since the box is in the way so we are going to come up with something a lil different I think. Will keep you updated.

That looks cool. I don't know much about sound system but I love music. WOuld a subwoofer allow me to turn the base up without distorting the sound? I ask because i like the sound system that comes with my truck. it's not bad. But I usually turn the base down from the max becuase when i trun it up to much, the music no longer sounds crisp and clear. Instead it sounds buzzy and drowns out the sound of the instruments.

Last I heard from Justin last week was that the box changed to mount the sub at a different angle. The box will fit 95 - 04 Tacomas now.

Any updates / pictures on your end?
