Is that so the resistor gives off the heat from the excess energy instead of the pump running full bore when not needed (possibly transferring heat into the fuel)?

I got the pumps powered up and there’s a huge leak somewhere in the plumbing on top of the tank. I may have overtightened one of the PTFE fittings when I made up the hoses.

That means the tank needs to come back out and I really won’t have time to mess with that until Saturday. Hopefully the clouds will open up and the rain will stop long enough to get some work done. If not, I might just leave it be until spring break.

Looks like no C&C this time. :pout:

Well it can’t be to save electricity since the resistor is eating the power that the pump would.

Indeed. It’s fine, just forces me to take the tank back out.

I want to re-route the fuel lines between the pump to the filter anyway. I also want to re-work those holes I enlarged a bit more, now that I have a fresh carbide burr. It will make the tank bolts a tad bit easier to line up.

It’s not raining this evening. Or at least it’s not supposed to until 10pm.

I may try to get that fuel leak fixed tonight. If successful, I can make the C&C in the morning. It would be a good one to attend, since TTC is planning to make a showing this time around.

Took longer than I planned (what else is new) but it’s alive again. I got the fuel pump rigged up temporarily so I can drive it.

I had filled it at the house with a 5 gallon gas can. I just went and topped it off and it held another 27 gallons. I’m going to like this added range.

I’ll be at C&C provided I can wake up. :pccoffee:

Truck is dirty AF it’s been sitting under my tree all week and it’s full of leaves.

Your flange didn't warp. All good.

What size cup were you using?

    What CFH were you flowing?

Are you using a gas lense?

    Excellent questions.

Good job D-Bo! That's about how my first TIG welds worth a crap looked. It'll hold better than a MIG job or any muffler shop job for sure. Run it!
