K&n

Hello should I go back to my stock filter or keep this k&n filter on my 2004 tacoma i hear somthing avout fine dirt getting throw the k&n filter I don't want to damage my engine I even. Bought a k&n cover for the filter what do u guys think should I keep the k&n or go back to stock

 

OEM and delete thread and search

 

I had a K&N cone filter, that came with the truck, and swapped it out for stock. I hated the maintenance on the K&N and it does nothing noticeable in performance.

 

when I got my truck it had one of those loud air intake systems on it. I searched around and
found the OEM setup on ebay. When it came it had a nice K&N filter in it. I replaced the
filter with OEM. I don't remember the details now, but I looked at the replacement paper
filters at the local auto-zone type places and didn't care for them, that's why I went with
an OEM paper one. There's probably nothing wrong with K&N, there's a lot of hype
on the Internet about how good/bad they are.

I notice a difference. The cold air intakes are a waste of money. They kinda look cool. I bought one when I first bought my truck and I’m going back to the stock airbox because it’s a true cold air intake but aim going to install a K&N air filter instead of oem.
