got the console, jump seats, & belts, out.

Q: what size are the seatbelt to truck chassis bolts?

I believe I used a 15 mm socket, but my thread gauge says 7/16" x 18 tpi. I want to order hex set screws to plug the holes.

Q: what size are the seat attachment screws?

these were a 10 mm socket to remove.

Q: how do I get the headrests off?

i'll leave the back panel and retractable shoulder strap for the time being.

and, moving to the driver's office,

Q: what can be done about all the literature plastered on the sun visors?

    thanks-es

if I was going to a store, I would most assuredly follow your sage advice. McMasters-Carr demands more articulate information on their order form, though.

The lower ones, I got off with 91% alcohol and GooGone. The upper ones came off with a handy little steamer that I got later on. That is the better method. Almost no residue on the first try if you go slow.

I hate warning labels, and those were seriously distracting.

    thank you; appreciated.

I may even add a little eucalyptus oil and turn it on in the boom-boom room for those "special" times.

I didn’t tear into the interior too hard, but I wouldn’t mind learning how to remove the headrests.... I have the seats out.....

flip the headrest vertical. grab the small fabric panel under it, and pull its top edge to you. then lift to release its tabs.

take the (3) 1"x1" square plugs (high up) out of the back panel. they come out a little hard and use a metal putty knife. there are screws which need removal here (10 mm).

pop out the (4) 1" x 2" rectangles above the lower anchor points (baby seat???).

starting at the middle seam on the driver side. pry it toward you and slip your plastic pry gadget until it stops every 4" or so. these are the ubiquitous barbed plastic tabs which hold our 40K trucks together.'

pressure pulling the back panel from the bottom toward you and the tool can release the tabs one x one. now do the right side of that panel. there are a smattering of push-pin style anchors across the back. with the edges loose, gather your courage and give the panel a controlled tug. not like a bear, but be a little assertive, and not scared of the "POP". the first one is the worst.

the passenger side panel is a breeze after the learning curve of the drivers side.

snoop around youtube for some audio guys working on these trucks and you'll get the gist of things: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEcowYsoW-c&list=PLswKyja_xQfI3ESkrjYvK2r7sMc7UHU_1&index=13&t=0s

I understand. I did not have the option to get the jumps when I bought my Tacoma. Any idea on what you would want for them?

the two seat bottoms w/ attachment brackets, headrests, seat belt latches (shoulder harness not included), bracket & center console= $75 plus UPS shipping. no packaging fee as I can get enough cardboard from the local bike shop to box them. my truck has 491 miles so they are truly "like new".

Sounds good. I'll take it. PM me?

If you ever decide to sell the shoulder harness let me know.

I sent a PM. the shoulder harnesses will most likely stay as part of the "luggage restraint system" I will put in this summer. I wanted the Goose Gear panels but pulled back for two reasons. they are only for double cabs, and for the price I can make something better looking. not knocking them, and my time carries no cost, but the universal appeal of the GG panels are not what I need. too many "maybe" attachment points, raised latches, and for cripes sakes, 600 bucks and the resting piece for the horizontal panel is bare wood.

retired from 50 years in the residential construction business, and I certainly don't begrudge a company making a profit, but that last one is the wrong place to cut a corner.
